Default Colts Defense is better than Pats Defense

I dont think a lot of people realize how much the Colts defense has improved over the last couple of seasons, they are fast and they fly to the football. Bob Sanders is a beast and is a vital part of the game. I will take the Colts Defense and the Colts team for that matter any day of the week over the Pats

Unless that day is November 4, 2007, I guess.

Colts should of had that game but no excuses they lost the game fair and square... So you judge everything on 1 game? So I guess the Bears are a lot better than the Packers since they swept them this year based on your logic?

Well, that one game....and that the Pats are 15-0...and that Pats have the best offense of all time...and that the Pats have the best coach of all time...and that the Pats (probably) have the highest power rating of all time...and that the Pats will be at least a 6.5 point favorite if the 2 teams meet again...and that the Pats will beat them again....and that the Pats will win the Super Bowl...and that the Pats will finish 19-0...and that they will be crowned as the "best team of all time" when that happens.

Besides that, I'm just winging it.

The Colts didn't lose the game fair and square. The Colts got almost all the calls from the officials and still found a way to lose.

As for who has the better defense, I would take Pittsburgh, SD, Indy, Tenn (with a healthy Haynesworth), SD, and Sea over them. NE has a good defense, but not a great defense. Their offense is what is carrything them to history.

Uh.
I don't know how you can say that the Colts D is better than the Pats with their best player out - Dwight Freeney. Also, the Sanders 'mystique' has lost quite a bit of it's charm with all the injuries on the Colts D Line. I will say, though, that the Colts D plays with as much heart and intensity of any D I've ever seen - they play 2 levels above their talent.

I think if the Colts were at 100% - you could make an argument this year, but they're not.

Also, mediocre or worse QBs are not patient enough to play against that D. It's designed to keep you on the field and make mistakes - and then get nervous and choke on 3rd down. Meanwhile, a GOOD QB just slowly and methodically picks apart the shell with the short stuff -- it's when a team gets impatient or behind, you're going to suffer. Again, it's a defensive scheme built to play with a lead... Only the best QBs can overcome that.
Afterall - Brady did this year.
I'm not so sure he could do it this year vs the Colts D from last year.

I agree, colts d dominated the pats in their only matchup this season. Colts offense is way down to me tho. Their OL was never able to replace their pro bowl tackle who retired. ( tarik glenn) i believe. Also with marvin out that's huge.

Colts fan here. If the Colts D was all that and a bag of chips, they'd have held onto their 10 point fourth quarter lead.

The colts should have had another TD on the board, but an inadvertant whistle negated the interception for a 80yd diff in field position.

Maybe you should get off the ESPN bandwagon and pull the stick out of your ass. I hate the colts my brother in law is a huge colts fan. Flies the flag outside his house. Has a colt thermometer, coasters for drinks, etc all colts. But the colt did not get all the calls. NE got lucky, they played better that day, and had luck on there side.

NE D is middle of the pack if you ask me. They arn't dominate, and I don't think they can IMPOSE their will on any playoff calibur team. I think Indy will suprise people in the playoffs. I do not think NE gets to the superbowl.
