There was already a notice about this topic and it was made clear that this practice will be done not to deliberately infringe upon your privacy, which technically it may be, but in order to keep spammers and touts from going after our members.

That's the only reason, nobody is needlessly reading every personal comment you write and eating popcorn, they have better things to do and are only seeking to handle persons abusing the system.

I received an e-mail stating my PM was taken away because I shouldn't be discussing about "Credit Books" and that if I stop talking about this topic I would be given my PM back.

If you talk about credit books thats fine. If you are trying to get people to sign up at a credit book thats not fine.

The PM system is NOT for personal commerece. Talk to your buds thats great. Try to sell them something or put them in a book, not fine.

To be clear, we do scan the PM's. We scan them because we dont want our members hustled. Those are the terms basically.

I got that notice when i "signed up" for pms.

We had touts, sportsbook agents and scammers that basically used the system to spam all 7000+ SBR members, or tried to before they were caught.

We learned why nearly all major forums have disabled this function.

The software does not come with the ability to scan PM's so we had a solution devloped by our programers. We were faced with either this solution or to do away with them.

I know how I would feel as a player so if some are upset I dont blame you. We really dont have the least bit of interest in anyones PM's except to keep scammers away from you guys. That we will do our best on.

I never once received a spam PM. Only ever received four in total.

Thats true.

Not as bad of a problems as the scammers but as I said, we dont want the PM used for private commerce. We are funded by the names you see at the top. Allowing posters to recruit players for referrals would mean we would be competing with our own posters. I didn’t attend the Wharton School of Business but I'm pretty sure thats not a very good biz decision. Thats probably why they have been disabled or never offered at most forums.
