Default What common online sportsbook practice do you hate the most?

For me, I can't decide.

I think its unethical for them to leave money in your account after you request a withdrawal. For them to say it takes XX amount of days to "process." I miss PartyPoker - they took the money out of your account right away. The reason the book leaves it in there is to tempt you to bet it. I've studied the cognitive processes of gamblers and if that money is in there, theres a good chance it is going to be wagered.

I also don't like how the books let you deposit instantly, but make you jump through a ton of hoops to withdraw. It should be the other way around. Submit all of those worthless forms BEFORE they even let you make a deposit.

What do you guys hate?

Now this has ever happen to me personally before, but never the less. I've seen it happen several times over the years.

I hate it when a book changes it rules just to screw a player out of his winnings. BetUS, Royal, WagerWeb, and Sportsbook.com all fall into this category.

I agree it sure makes it customer friendly when its so easy for them to take money you give, then when you win and want to take it back

Just curious, I'm currently on Sportsbook.com and I am looking for another site. Does anybody recommend Pinnacle or TheGreek ?

I've never quite understood why a place like Pinnacle can process your withdrawal to Neteller or Moneybookers in 3 minutes, yet a place like Intertops can take up to 72 hours to perform the very same task.....

But hey, compared to some other no-pay places, I guess that's pretty good actually.....

I'd say the most annoying practice by offshore sportsbook is the delay in processing payment on withdrawals. If interest was charged for each day it takes the offshore sportsbook to process the payment, the delivery of payment withdrawals would be much more expeditious.

If somebody wants to get in tough with me too, I can put your name as referral like to deposit next day or so
I would reccommend Bookmaker. The early lines are great and the Free Betpoints are also very nice. You can use the Betpoints for gambling or free payouts for like a Fed-
ex check which get to ya in about 2-3 days. I was usinf sportsbetting.com and switched to Bookmaker and it is a wrold of difference.

I hate when a sportsbook accepts wagers and then when the player wins and wants to cash out, the sportsbook says, "all of your plays (over 60) were past posted and we are not going to pay you."

This is how WAGERWEB trys to run their sportsbook.

I don't like it that much when a book encourages you to open accounts at different skins under their management and then steals $150K from you for having multiple accounts.

I don't know how many books do it but I noticed Betjam will put NBA lines up for the next day at like 5pm, then they take them down at like 9pm and won't put them back up until the next mid-morning.

Maybe the line manager goes home, don't know why but it's annoying.

I really think Intertops is an operation consisting of 1 man with a wal-mart server in his basement, with a couple of phones and a geocities website.

Payout delays are the most annoying.

Also, poor customer service, late and/or dual lines, and unreasonable rollover requirements for bonuses are near the top of my list.

The above from the original poster is quite correct.

But it has another aspect. I know several compulsive gamblers, one both sports and horses, the other strictly horses.

Both tried an offshore book, posting up and then betting off their deposit money.

Both later gave up on it. Here's why: the money is THERE, waiting to be bet. It's not coming out of your pocket, it's already out of your pocket. And it's there, baby.

Without control, they blow those bucks much faster than they would if they had to pony it up at a betting window.

Both these dudes I know went back to "threw the window" betting, the first at the Mexican books, the other at a simulcast center.

Hey Chris thanks for the advice on Bookmaker. I'm at sportsbook.com though not sportsbetting haha. I'll look them over now

And sorry in advance not sure where to put this, but wondering what are some other sports betting sites everybody uses. I have noticed alot of people that post on here seem to have pretty good knowledge about what they bet and would be interested in signing up another book for myself. Thanks again
