Colts have 3 timeouts.

Steelers still shouldve downed the ball in that situation I think and make the Colts burn their timeouts.....The Steelers then kick a FG with less than a min left and the Colts would have to score a TD with no timeouts with about 40 sec left.
Well, then again if Bettis didn't fumble he wouldve scored a TD and the game was over....Just one of those "FREAK" plays

i couldn't believe bettis fumbled that ball.

stellers should had kneel 3 times and kicked the field goal.
that stupid ASS play almost cost me $10,000 parlay and a $5,000 ticket.
Thank god for big Ben.

Did you guys see Vanderjack before the final kick? Dude was white as a ghost. I think I was feeling more sick than him, though. When he missed like that, it really didn't suprise me. He was feeling the pressure. It's been a while since I've seen an kicker choke like that.

Yeah If James runs 8 more inches in the 2nd qt colts would of has 4 more points
just enough to tie the score,All those 4th down conv's,If colts run ball in 4th qt
on 3rd & 2 instead of a stupid pass, they get 1st down and then score
TD maybe. We will never know. one thing I know is= Dungy isn't the coach,
and is overrated!!

IMGV, I don't think Dungy calls the offensive plays. That's Tom Moore and, of course, Peyton's place. Moore has done a hell of a job for years with the Colts, but today was just terrible. There needs to be a hard look taken at why they lost today. Maybe there needs to be a new offensive coordinator. I think Dungy's done a terrific job since he's been in Indy.

Hey all I have been hearing is Cohwer outcoached Dungy,Put him
to shame. Cohwer had a way better game plan than Dungy,Steelers
8out of there 1st 10 plays were passes!!!

Peyton Manning has never come through when it really mattered...

he's like 3-6 in the playoffs, and couldn't beat Florida in his 4 years in college.Originally Posted by pags11

Colts were 0-4 against Steelers in the playoffs. 0-5 now. What gets me is this incessant need for coaches to sit on a lead. They play great football, take a nice lead and then completely change the gameplan. If it aint broke then don't "Fix" it. Both Cower and Gibbs (against Tampa) shut up shop way to early and nearly got burned as a result.

It was truly a freak play and a stupid call by the Steelers, but it worked out.
SBR Founder Join Date: 8/9/2005
I would run it too. The Colts had 3 timeouts and there was over a minute left in the game. No way I want to give the ball back to the Colts offense with a minute left and a chance to win the game on a TD. You're 2 yards away from certain victory so bust it in. I'm somewhat perplexed as to why Bettis is running with the ball exposed in one arm within the contact zone though. At the very least, it was a mental lapse on his part.

If i had to choose a play from 2 yards, the Bus would be the man for me. 99 times out of a hundred it's a done deal.

Valid point, but that 1 in 100 almost cost them dearly.Originally Posted by mad

Amongst the many things I was thinking directly after he fumbled the ball, I thought..."If they lose this game, there's no way in hell he retires with that being his last carry." Tell me Bill Buckner was not getting ready to pass on his Goat of the Century trophy.Originally Posted by Illusion

ever. Am I right? Enough Drama to kill a cow!!!

FB dive with two hands over the ball is all I would have called...

Did you guys hear about the guy who had a heart attack because of the Bettis fumble? Now that's a true fan, lol.
