    Default Best Super Bowl Longshot

Which non-bye team can make it to the Super Bowl? Indy and NE in the AFC, plus Dal and GB in the NFC have clinched byes. So what other team, either conference, can run 3 playoff wins together and make it to the Big Game?

    I'll take Jacksonville (20-1 AFC, 35-1 SB---at Book/Cris). Any other thoughts?

    Hedgehog,

I think it wouldn't be a bad idea to look at the Vikings to win the NFC if you are looking for longshots.

I say Jacksonville, San Diego, Cleveland, and Pittsburgh in The AFC and Minnesota and New Orleans in The NFC.

saints are the only longshot i would think about playing.

The Jags really are the only team that have the 'formula' for championships in the 'longshot' category, or have the most.

Defense (some big injuries, but good depth) - Check
    Running game - Check PLUS
    Playmakers - Check
    Consistent QB - Check
    Turnover prevention - Check
Turnover potential on D - Check
Special teams - Meh (inconsistant kicker)

If they can keep the gas on and close out strong, there's good value in those odds. But getting past NE or Indy and then possibly NE or Indy? Yikes.

i got SD 15-1 way back in September

    TOok the Colts last year

Going with my theory that you cant be 14-2, 15-1, lose a home playoff game and then not win the next year.

anyone who would throw money on any team other then the patriots,Cowboys,Colts,or Packers is an idiot. All these other teams would be a joke.

Saw your Cowboys the past 2 weeks--they suck! Odds on to win the NFC, what a joke! Grow up, sonny.

The problem with taking any AFC team is that they'd almost certainly have to go through New England, and I just can't envision a scenario in which one of them can (much as I would love to see it).

Minnesota's probably got a decent shot in the NFC, but they seem to be the popular pick and so won't offer as great a price for their real chances. The Saints aren't a bad longshot, either. Seattle isn't a longshot: they're a noshot.

Are you joking me, my Cowboys are fine, Colts struggled last year down the stretch but then went on to winthe superbowl.

You don't even realize how moronic you sound suggesting to bet money any of the teams other then the Pats,Dallas,GB or Colts have a shot to win their confernces. It's dumb, this year it's a pretty clear cut.

I am a small player, $50-100 a game on a daily basis (I've only bet 500 once and i won, very rarely i will bet a few hundred), does that mean i don't know more about sports then you or a play of mine is not as good as someone who bet 5 dimes, the answer is no, I am just not dumb. I am 20 years old and the last thing I need is to lose all my money on gambling because even though i win now does not mean I won't lose later.

You will all lose your money on these future bets, total waste of money, that is my point.

By the way, Vikings have no chance with tha scrub at quarterback.

Are you telling me I am a peice of shit because I don't gamble all my money?? what is your point?

MJF "the genius": If you want to play chalk like NE (1-3 AFC) or your over-bought Dal (3-5 NFC), that's your choice, but I see no value in those low odds. Don't label the rest of us morons for looking for a price. I've watched a lot of playoffs and have seen a number of #3 thru #6 seeds put three wins together and get to the Super Bowl. So cut the crap about there being no chance. If I want to throw $50 or $100 on a longshot, that's my choice too. I see it as a value play; you see it as a waste...again my choice.

Hedgehog I didn't place a bet for any futures because there was no value, those teams had no shot, I told you before it happened but you did not listen. You could have bought alot with that $100 now it's gone you moron.
