My mom and her mom got pregnant when they was both 16 only they wasn’t 16 at the same time. I like to think that my momma went back to high school after she had me but I just don’t rightly know even though that turned out well cause my Aunt Beth'd been trying to have kids with Uncle Devereaux since she was 16 and he was 27 only they couldn’t have none so she wanted me and that was that. Age really has got little to do with it you know. Like the time I was only 10 and was sitting in Uncle Devereaux’s El Camino out in the parking lot of the Bear’s Den over off the old Broussard Highway listening to the LSU baseball game on the radio when this bunch of people come rolling out of the pool hall down on the end where the bar’s at and not the other end where the kitchen is that backs up next to the Second Antioch Baptist Church. Now Uncle Devereaux told me to sit in that truck no matter what even if it caught on fire I was s’posed to sit in that damn truck and fry only I got out anyway and went running over there where everyone was a whoopin’ and a hollerin’ but it was just cause Jimmy Frank Fontenot found out his wife Edna was foolin’ around with those Trahan brothers which everyone knew was going on even us little kids. So sure as shít right when I got up to get a good look of Jimmy Frank laying into the Trahan brothers all while Edna was on his back with her skirt hiked up around her arm pits and showing off her underwear and droopy títs here comes Uncle Devereaux to break things up and I knowed he saw me standing there when I was s’posed to be in that damn truck and the reason I knowed he seen me is he told me so later. Only by then he was more pissed off about the fact I had his damn truck radio on all that time and the battery was run down meaning I had to push him to help get it started long about 3 that next morning when the party broke up on account of all the beer finally running out.

Still I wish I was the daddy of that younger Spears girl’s kid cause she looks like one fine piece of action.
