thats right, $9000.00 as in Nine Thousand Dollars. some dad sold a video game on ebay that was supposed to be his son's Christmas present, because he caught his son smoking pot(weed, grass, herb, etc.) i think the idiot who placed a bid for 9 grand has smoked to much pot myself.

Sure, throw them under the bus. They must have held that innocent little boy at gunpoint and forced him to inhale that awful stuff in YOUR home. I'm sure he had no say whatsoever in where they got high, and I'm sure he didn't enjoy any minute of it. I doubt they will ever see the 9 grand. Sounds like a fake bid.
I'm sure there's some sort of protection on a misclick type of scenario, plus as you mention there are tons of outrageous bids on there that are undoubtedly fake.
That is just a big excessive to pay that much!! Yikes!
