I just wish we had leaders with a backbone who would tell the WTO where they can go and what they can do when they get there. The US should resign from the WTO, cut off all funding to them, and declare all agreements signed through them null and void. And then kick the mother ****ers out of our country.

Bloomberg really didn't say anything of much impact in his article. Pretty much standard globalist boilerplate. The Wall Street Journal, Barron's, etc have been serving up the same stale dish for decades.

They control the media, and it now seems to the peasant minds that one is not hip if one does not kowtow to the globalist (used to be called "internationalist," but that sounds too "Commie') line.

There are many well-reasoned sound arguments agianst globalism, truly a race to the bottom.

But you don't have to peruse 'em - just ask the rancher near the Mexican border whose cattle are regularly butchered by passing illegal aliens, or . . .

the small town restaurant owner with a minimum wage or higher payroll of 10 workers, who must now compete with a family from China, India, Brazil with an extended family of 12, most of whom sleep in the restaurant storeroom . . .

Unlike the protectionist '50s, when women stayed home to raise the kids, most American families today need two incomes just to get by.

In my city they built a casino at the race track about 10-15 years ago. Its not really a casino, just slot machines... Anyways, it adds something like 10% to the budget for the city every year. Plus it brings in a ton of tourists. My city is far better than it was 15 years ago. So i would say my local economy is benefitting from gambling.

If the gambling company was american (as in your example), the money from the gambler passes to the casino company who then put it back into the economy. They pay workers, who then spend the money at a local bar, and so on..
