Have a fast internet connection! I've tried some NFL live betting, but often the line changes by the time my bet gets registered.

What books/exchanges do you guys use for live betting?

I have stayed away from live betting as I think it would become impulsive for me...but that's just me...I say implusive and not compulsive in that I wouldn't be able to have proper time to handicap and it seems like you just kind of fly by the seat of your pants like a daytrader of sorts...I know some people that have made a lot of money with this though...

Pinnacle is good for it's low juice and Matchbook for the P2P element. But, as slacker00 said, you've got to be wuick on the ball with this type of betting. Fast connection and fast fingers are a must.

Take teams who are losing in basketball. Everyone makes a run, and then you can buy back or let it ride.

how do you guys handle the TV and radio time delays anyways ? because, that i feel that has to be a very important tool when wagering on these types of events.

Sometimes in the UK we get the game 4-5 seconds in front of the "live" pictures shown in the States. As long as you're quick with your fingers, you can make money. Of course, the big traders will have a fast feed, but there will be your average Joes at home with a 5 second disadvantage.

taco, i was thinking maybe a c-band satellite dish, and watching the broadcasts on the wild feeds might be the best bet. because, thats the only way i can think of to avoid time delays.

what about the radio broadcasts over there, any time delays ?

Never tried accessing any radio stations and I'd rather see something happening that have someone relay it to me - there's a time delay in that for starters.

Sometimes - I don't know if it's all the time - the feeds in the UK are quicker than into your average American home. They like to boast about it on the TV station as well which helps. I find it a lot more useful in baseball where home runs or other scoring plays can come out of the blue and are pretty easily identifiable from the second after they hit the bat. In NFL, say, scoring plays aren't as easy to react to quickly.

Well I guess it must be "real-time" over here then. I don't think it's on every game but you sure can tell when we get it quicker since there's a definate lag on the exchanges. It's not on the big money since I'm sure the major traders have real time access.

What's the reason for the specific 7 second delay?

taco, the FCC claims the delay is for language, and graphical content.

You mean to stop things happening like Janet jackson's tit popping out?

after that janet jackson incident, the FCC cracked the whip even harder with delays.

That FCC is full of bs. I've got the Janet Jackson tit whip-out on tape. You can barely see anything, even if I freeze frame and whatnot. I mean, I've seen more tit in most beer commercials.

there is almost always an overcorrection when a team scores (in football)

I think you can always bet against the grain and come out ahead, at least for football, by scalping prices later

i'm thinking baseball might be a good time to start using this style of wagering. theres a few bullpens out there, where i think you can really clean up with this comming year.
