I'm looking for a sportsbook to use. Do any of you use WSEX or BetJamaica? I read the reviews but I wanted to hear some personal opinions on which, if either of these, I should use. I know WSEX charges $30 for each payout, not matter what the amount is. Any good or bad experiences out there with either of these sportsbooks?

First off, welcome to the forum Jhern.

You should be fine with either one. One reason I like WSEX is how easy it is to transfer funds to Matchbook and vice-versa free of charge. Matchbook is an exchange with great lines that has the same ownership as WSEX, which I'd also recommend looking at depending your needs.

My vote is for WSEX, I get a free withdrawal every 10 days (Moneybookers, Instadebit).

The site is clean and simple and fast.

I'm not knocking betjam, I personally prefer WSEX, been with them a long time, zero complaints.

You picked two very highly respected books in WSEX and BetJamaica, and which ever one you choose I would say you made an excellent choice.

Now lets break them both down for you so you can decide which one of these book best suit your wagering needs.


BetJamaica is more of a recreation book and does offer nice reload bonuses, however since they are a recreational book they could cut your limits. They don't offer a live chat service, but they do answer their emails within 5-10 minutes. The banking options aren't the greatest out there, but nobody's are these days for U.S. customers, however they also offer one free payout via Fedex per calender month (min. $200), and $35 flat fee after (receive checks within 3 days). The lines they offer are very competitive with most other books IMO.


WSEX has more of a professional type flavor to them, and will not cut your limits. Their customer service is very good, and they do offer a live chat feature which is a plus for those who want their question answered ASAP without picking up a phone and dialing. They also offer a rake free poker room if thats your thing, as well as live betting on selective games on a daily basis.Their banking option aren't exactly the best, but again I say it's do to the U.S. law restrictions, and the withdraws for Fedex checks are reasonable at only $30 (received within 2-4 days). Bonuses are hardly offered, but they do send out special email offers and or special reload offers on their website from time to time.

Both are excellent, if you like more exotic type bets, early lines then jamaica is your choice. If your more just of a traditional player wsex will suit you.

I'm a little down on wsex, while I still like them a lot, their payouts have really slowed down since the govt regulations....my last three fedex payouts which cost 30 each have taken 7, 9, and 14 days to reach me, they reluctantly credited my 30 for the two week wait. Bet Jam and others have maintained much faster payouts and they give you one free one per month..a very nice perk.

How long does that take, all books should offer one free fedex per month, I think they would more than make it back from satisfied customers loyalty.

From what I have read here on this forum within the past couple months, regular mail is usually 1-2 weeks. I think I have read that some people get it within a week. Its not bad, they are a quality business and have been since they started.

Clearly you do tout them and you are touting 5d which is a pathetic book compared to the other 2 mentioned on the thread.

At WSEX you can get $1000 - $2500 and upwards of action. At 5d you can get $500 max and $50 max on reduced juice. Pathetic.

At 5d their customer service can be abusive, especially if you bet a line they deem bad - even if it would not qualify as a palp. They threaten you with closure etc. You don't get that shit at either of the other 2 books mentioned.

BJM and WSEX are both deservedly in the A category of sportsbook - i too get a free wd every 10 days up to $2500 from WSEX so would personally choose them, but you can't go wrong with Jamaica either. Stay away from 5d, they clearly have resorted to getting people to spam internet forums, and that should ring alarm bells.
