Question Deciphering 2nd half lines, a case in point

New Jersey was a one point underdog at Cleveland with no James... Now it's halftime, with New Jersey leading 47-43, the halftime line at Pinnacle is:

    New Jersey -1 +100 -120 moneyline

So, does this mean that the oddsmakers knew that New Jersey should have been favored before the game? After all, this halftime line is saying that New Jersey should have been a 4 or 5 point favorite in this game, am I deciphering this right?

NJ closed as -2.5 favorite. They won 1st half by "the line" and now they are favorites to win the second half by the half the line. Pretty common scenario.

They want to leave the final score line at -5. -5 is the point where teams start to foul to get the ball back. If they think NJ has a better chance to win they go with them that is -1 second half. If they think Cleveland will win they would have made the line +3.5 Cleveland.

I bet New Jersey ML +100 less than an hour before the game.

Makes sense, thanks. Do you think 5 is a common number for NBA spreads for this reason?
