OT: Tom Petty to perform during Super Bowl
Tom Petty has been selected to perform during halftime at next year's Super Bowl. Considering that most African Americans couldn't name a Tom Petty song if their life depended on it....was this a good choice? I've been a Tom Petty fan for years and finally got to see him live several years ago. He was great and I enjoyed myself. Name the songs that you want to see Petty play.
P.S. New Tom Petty documentary "Runnining Down a Dream" is a must see for fans.

Tho i'd much rather see songs other than Free Falling performed, i'm almost certain that this one will be played! I'd rather just see him rock it up with "Running Down a Dream, Don't Do Me Like That" etc.
Worst choice in NFL history, most shows are horrible but here is another guy way past his prime and will not relate to about 85% of the audience.

Good choice gotta love tom petty. Dont need to see any more hip hop or pop everytime there is a half time show.
If it's some 16 year old wannabe thug that no older white people have ever heard of it's OK, but bring out an older white guy who actually plays an instrument but who no young African Americans have ever heard of and it's a travesty. Gotta love the USA...
I agree 100% I'm sick of seeing these hip hop/pop whatever hasbeens perform every year. Petty is a true classic rock star that has stood the test of time.

I never really paid much attention to the haftime shows, could care less who they picked though I do enjoy Tom Peretty's music.
