Default Sports betting v. Fantasy football

What really is the difference between fantasy football and sports betting? Isn't Fantasy football just a longterm gamble but not on the teams but the players? I layed down a hundred dollars in two different leagues this year with the possibility of winning almost a total of 20 times my money. It keeps you interested in the games just like betting does.

I HATE fantasy football... It's a cheap way for wannabe bettors to bet or have something to do to get away from family life...

It is pretty silly I'll give you that. I go through periods where I haven't played it for a while, then I'm like okay I'll be social and join your league, but really it is so hard to get into.

EVERYBODY is action guys JJ... Fantasy football is a gateway to gambling there is no question about it... Like drugs... some bite ...some don't....to the gateway... If weed is the gateway I have been standing at the gate for a good while now...

I played FF when I coached because it was very simple but it's really stupid actually...

How do you really feel? Is your point that fantasy football players don't gamble well, and who doesn't want to get away from family life? Playing fantasy football keeps me more abreast with team dynamics which can only help when deciding on who to gamble with.

weed is most definitely a gateway, unless you're one of those dudes who takes two tokes and runs around as if he's high or some crap. i'd just be taking my time toking and chilling. but that got boring after so long.

I HATE fantasy football... I was watching the NFL Network and they were talking to some NFL players about that Fantasy sh*t... They play it and call each other "Hey man I got you in my fantasy I need some points"... I was surprise to see that actually... That is basically implying "I am betting on you" and if money as a prize is involved then it's gambling...

To me FF is putting a lot of time into knowing nothing really but getting entertainment which I guess could be enough... Just watching football by itself doesn't seem to be enough anymore... Gambling and FF have one thing in common... It makes watching the game more interesting... They are directly related in that aspect...

I agree that it doesn't necessarily take a lot of smarts to actually play, but that does'nt mean there can not be fantasy players who are smart and savvy (like me).

Who is on your team this year Travis and did you make your play offs? My team went in the tank early thanks a stupid trade I made before the draft when I got Benson and Rivers for my 1st round pick and that dude took Adrian Peterson.

    Two leagues, playoffs in both.

Automatons: A. Peterson (the good one)
    Jones-Drew
    TO
    (my bread winners)

    Too High:
    Manning (the good one)
    Parker
Jones-Drew (I love the gamble with the little man)
    Holt
    Welker
    Winslow

Yea I got TO and Edwards with the Browns but the rest of my team sucked big time. Rivers only had that one big game and none of my RB like Benson and Addai did much. The Bucs defense was pretty good but my team only went 6-7 so we will not be playing in the play offs.

Benson and Rivers are busts so far in their careers. Rivers has shown promise but still not consistent enough. Benson just hasn't seemed to match the speed of his nfl counterparts.

I used to be into to it until I started gambling. Now it doesn't do much for me. I am more concerned about the spread/total than I am if TO goes for 100+ and a couple TD's.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still in a couple of leagues and love a live draft, but once the season starts, more energy goes into capping.
