Default Have you ever been hustled in the classic sense? Out with it

    I'll start.

Was in this pool hall which also had a ping pong table. I had broken even shooting pool and had cased up my stick when this very large fellow asked me if I wanted to play ping pong for a couple of bucks a game. I said no. My parents had a ping pong table and I played a lot as a kid but had no desire to play for a couple of bucks.

So this very large chap made me an offer I couldnt refuse. He offered to play me for $50 which was about my net worth at the time. He would spot me 19 and we would play to 21. Plus I got to serve first.

Man that fvcker was some kind of good. At some point I actually won a point but that was the last one I would win. He won 22-20. I never came even remotely close to returning a serve, most were aces.

At a party one night this beautiful girl approached me, I usually only approach girls a slight bit less attractive than myself unless I'm drunk, so I wouldn't have approached this one on my own. We just started joking around and had some drinks.

Took her home, she was wild. Woke up the next morning, she was gone. And so was $300 from my wallet. I understood.

Were they legal serves? Most punks in ping pong don't toss the ball up, they spin it out of their hands which is an illegal and difficult to return serve.

I hustle myself when I play golf, as I toss in a few bucks I know I'll never see again every hole. I see it as good to let my friends win at something.

I hustled once ... we were at a bar .. and I told my friends that I would bet $200 that I would piss all over the bar .... they took the bet (there was 5 of them ... all took the bet) .... so went over to the bartender and told him I would bet $500 that from where I was standing I could take a leak and hit the stool and the end of the bar ... the guy at first told me to f\*\*k off ... but after insisting for a while ... he took the $500 bet ... and obviously I pissed the whole place and earned a boot out of the bar ... but got $500 to go with me .....

I bet an old drunk on a game of pool, he was so hammered.
Once the money was down and the break had been made, he suddenly became as sober as a judge . . .

gave a dude a bunch of cheese to get me something once...and he never came back..... had him pulled over when i knew he was holding. straight to jail.... moral of the story, its okay to hustle and make a little cash, but dont rob or steal from someone who has an assistant D.A. for a brother in law.

Girls have hustled me a couple of times. Once it happened when I was younger and not married. I was driving from Prescott Arizona to Vegas. I was alone and it's about 2AM and I'm half way there and I'm driving through the hills in Arizona.

If you've ever done this when you are as tired as hell you know that you start hallucinating when driving through the mountains as your lights hit the side of the mountains.

Well I'm driving and on the shoulder I see these 2 girls waving frantically. I pull over but I had to be at least a 1/4 mile past them. I waited, not knowing if it was a hallucination or not, for a while and they caught up to me and asked for a ride.

These two hot, about 20 year old American Indian girls get in my car. Now I'm trying to figure WTF is going on. Two hot girls are looking for a ride at 2AM.

I'm thinking some guy's about to jump out with a gun and rob me or these girls are up to something.

Well, I let them in my car and told them I was headed to Vegas. They wanted to go so we all went to Vegas.

Shit, I'm too embarrassed and tired to post the rest now. I'll try tomorrow.

I grew up working in an arcade. I got really good at foosball. Lived in a tourist town and would make some decent coin playing 5 bucks a ball off the tourists and drunks who just crawled out of the bars who thought they were good.

I did get my ass handed to me by a pro one time. Didn't see it coming. I can't complain though.

I used to kick the snot out of Joey Gamache ( he was a pro boxer, WBA title holder). I thought he would kick the shit out of me when I beat him. Good thing I was a teen age punk back then. Very scary when you tower over someone by a good 12 inches or so, but you know that he could wipe the floor with your ass without breaking a sweat!!

Don't know if it counts as hustled, but I got burned badly once. It was the mid 80's and I was taking some small time book. Basically I would take action from people I knew and trusted. I would hold the bets that I liked and dump the rest with a real Bookie. It was like making +110 on my bets instead of laying -110.

But I did make a huge mistake; I allowed my boss' friend to place bets through me. He looked the part of a high roller with the expensive threads and wheels. Anyway, things went well for the first 6 weeks, especially since I collected five times to his one. Then he had a real bad week and called "from out of town on business" to ask to carry his balance. Since he was good thus far, I stupidly allowed it.

And now as Paul Harvey says "the rest of the story": His bets got larger and his losses mounted. Worse, his bets were out of my league so I started dumping more off. Needless to say, he ran and left me holding the bag. I paid my Guy big that week, costing me everything I made off that prick and then some.

I kept his betting sheets for a couple years as I seriously thought about hurting (or worse) him. The anger consumed me to the point where it strained my relationships at work and home as I was newly married at the time. I finally burned the betting pages one night and just let it go as a very costly lesson learned.

I think Raiders pulled the best hustle. He left us all with a hard-on.
