NOO!! THIS SUCKS!! I'm sure everyone and there mother will be saying that Sean Taylor was there favorite player now. But seriously, I followed him since his days at the Univ of Miami. He was heavily scouted his senior year of hs when he played for Gulliver Prep. I remember reading an article in, I believe, Parade magazine that said he was going to my fav NCAA program. I watched him closely during his first season (2001) and became a big fan. Sean did have problems off the field, as he didn't come from a good neighborgood at all, and that lifestyle still haunted him, but when he strapped on those pads, he would hit like a freight train. I really thought he would wind up in the hall one day. THIS SUCKS. RIP SEAN TAYLOR. My regards to the whole Taylor family.

He had 5 INTs this season. I went to DonBest to check out injuries and they have Taylor as out indefinitely.

Guys i know this question might be in poor taste, but i just wondered if the NFL required teams to pay off the deceased players contract in full

This is such a tragedy! I thought if he did make it he would be alright, this is such bad news for his family and teammates.

He'll probably get the rest of the contract this year but technically the owner would probably be legally justified in withholding payment. He'll probably pay just to avoid bad publicity....

Just take a look at U.S. troops who die in Iraq and Afghanistan....their families get a prorated paycheck for the amount of time they served during that month before they died.

You guys forget we live in a capitalistic society

I think some of these owners do have insurance policies on players in case of a bad injury or a death happens to cover for stuff like this. I makes them look good with public relations to do it this way.

I am sure he has a life insurance policy as well. May he rest in peace...

Sometimes I think people complain just to be complaining.

As a broncos fan, it's darrent williams all over again. A person who was only going to get better and possibly great in the NFL, life cut short by a senseless thug murder. RIP Sean Taylor.

as concerns the money issue, it seems to me that the players union would have a policy for any player's career ending injuries.

His past though came back to hurt him, we have no clue what he did there at night and have read he loved the street ghetto life.
