Shame on SBR John:
Man, am I gonna take some crap for this, but here it goes. I say shame on SBR John for fronting the $500 for the MW college bowl contest. MW proudly flies the Sportsbook.com banner and should be boycotted. SBR has said as much. Yet John wants to enter a 3-man team there in a contest; I disagree.
John was even outspoken about EOG's "apparent" reversal of pulling the SB banner. Recall that EOG now allows Sportsbetting.com's banner, one of SB's defector's(they paid their clients). But SB is still left out of their advertising--and rightly so. See below:

Our opinion is what it has always been. These portals should think long term and act in way that is positive to the industry and not promote scambooks.
No book affiliated with sportsbook.com should be promoted by any site because they are a train wreck ready to happen, again.
It's bad business to promote scambooks. It shows the true colors of the operator when they will promote an SBG or Sportsbook.com after the many scams and 3 card montys they have pulled.
Yet John thinks it's okay to enter a contest co-sponsored by MW. I find it inconsistent, and alarming.

So there is no misunderstanding, I actually like John-- but find his position indefensible. Either you boycott these sites 100% or not. You don't make an exception for a kick-ass contest, which sounds like a lot of fun. It's called making a stand.

I'd go with overly harsh, but agree with the rest.

For the record, I am one of those screwed over by SB--so I have an axe to grind. Not trying to be harsh, just stating my opinion. To me, it's either black or white (no gray).

It's an awesome topic. I look forward to the valid and valuable discusion that will follow. I just think it could have been initiated without the digital smackdown on SBR John.

I appreciate the poster's opinion on the contest. And he makes a good point.
This industry is dreadfully short on people who will stand up and make a stand. It is an industry of evil greed. So if anyone wants to agree with the poster you won't get an arguement from me.
I did it not to support MW but to give a few regular posters a chance to win a contest and have some fun and avenge my 2nd place finish last year. I did consider that sportsbook.com is an advertiser there. I was reluctant. The contest is run at no profit to MW and funds are held by WSEX. In the end I simply decided that was enough distance from sportsbook.com.

It's a generous offer from SBR. This may never happen again and I don't have a problem with giving posters a chance to win some coin. SBR also gets some pub if they win.

Having slept on it, I wish to withdraw my complaint, It's not like SB is the sponsor--and lucky for all they aren't holding the cash (WSEX is). So go kick some ass guys, bring home 1st place this year (none of this pussy 2nd place stuff again).
