CL is good for some things, not for others.

Good in some areas, dead or near dead in others.

If the area has a lot of poeple tuned in to the digital world, yeah, it's OK. In high-tech and very computer literate San Diego, CL a year or two ago forced the major daily paper to offer FREE classified ads to private parties, including "free stuff."

(Newspaper nationwide are hollering that CL is cutting steeply into their profits by reducing classifieds ads, and so, say the daily rags, "investigative jounalism" will suffer irreversibly.

LOL. What "investigative journalism?" I mean, the SD Union is a neocom piece of crap, and most of the rest of the national press isn't much better, else they would have exposed the Bush Admin's hoaxed-up March to War in its early stages.)

Back on topic: in remote areas or areas where only the geeky kids have pcs, forget it. You can't give away manure to a starving farmer in those zones.

Household stuff and cars do well on CL - if the price is right, as in LOW. Antiques, collectibles, like that - forget it, ebay still the king of that domain.

I use craigslist for my graded cards. I get about 2% of my business from their website. I found a lot of repeat customers which is good. It is just not locally people from all over search on that thing! Very Very sick stuff on some sections though hah

In Costa Rica it is used as well ... mainly from folks that lived or live in the US ... u can get info on real estate ... call centers ... all bunch of stuff you need and don't need ... as per the hooker service ... havent tried ... to many weird a$$ b!tches down here
