Best Nintendo Wii games?
I haven't had a video game system since Sega Genesis (15 years?) but bringing in the Wii this Christmas.
Any recommendations on best games? How about best games to play with young kids? I think this unit comes with Wii Sports already.
Anyone try SBRforum on the Wii internet?

No but I have on the PS3 browser. Works great.
I may get the Wii for my son, because that system is geared for kids.

The Wi is fine but it could be way better if they got rid of carton characters and put real people like Play Station or XBOX.
Bowling and Tenis are the most popular games

Going backwards in time huh Bill? Nothing wrong with a little regression, every now and then I dress up like John Wayne and start chasing the red-faced alcoholics down the street.

Ha, I always liked Nintendo because you could just pick it up and play it without reading an instructions booklet and having to practice it. Once these systems added a 4th button I was out.
I'm still the baddest Kid Icarus , Bomberman, Zelda player to ever blow into the bottom of a cartridge.

Not sure if this will help you out at all or not Bill, however here is a list of the most popular Wii games that are rented right now.

You will LOVE the wii, then.
Even the Sports game that comes with the console will entertain you for ages. Make sure to check out all of the training modes, they are actually great mini-games themselves.
Legend of Zelda-Twilight Princess is very good if you like that sort of thing.
Wii-Play is worth it for the free controller, but nowhere near as good as Sports.

Hmm, as a gamer I should step in here:
Zelda is a very good game, might be a little tough for the kids.
Metroid is another good game, although it is not the normal first person shooter.
Rayman Raving Rabbids is a fun "party" game.
Super Paper Mario is cool.
Super Mario Galaxies is very very very very very very very very fun. (think Commandant Lassard)
Resident Evil 4 is also excellent. A remake, but a worthy one. Resident Evil 4 is NOT the umbrella chronicles, which isn't as good.
I am not a fan of wii play or the Wii sports games.
Have fun.

This game is/was supposed to come out. It is called final furlong. It is a horse racing game. You may have seen it at ESPN Zone or wherever. Think of the Daytona Racing arcade games that have the banks of cars. Maybe 4 or 6 and you race against each other. In the arcade it was a bank of horses that you rode. I shit you not, this game worked so many muscles. If you rode properly, your legs would feel like jelly. The game is awesome to say the least. It was out around 1998. I think they still have them at ESPN Zone. Anyway, this game is supposed to come out for WII and it would be the game where it would be like an intense workout.

It depends what you're into, but metacritic lists games by score.
http://www.metacritic.com/games/wii/scores/
My personal picks:
Super Mario Galaxy
Super Paper Mario
Metroid Prime 3
Excite Truck
WarioWare is very good but very short. I recommend renting/Gamefly.
Two short Marble Madness-ish games I like are Kororinpa and Super Monkey Ball Blitz.
Another one I think is underrated is Mario Party 8. As usual, the single player is a non-starter, but it's a great game to play with friends and would be especially good to play with kids.

Great machine. Those games are timeless. The graphic systems are built toward the computer gamer but the Nintendo and the Intelevision had the classics.

did you get the adapter that allowed you to also play 2600 games on it, my friend had that system, i had a 2600 and coleco vision, my other friend had atari 5200 and coleco vision. damn that was some fun times. anyone remember those mini arcade games, it was basically a very small replica of a big arcade unit and they had a wall adapter or ran on 6-8 C batteries, i had the donkey kong,pac-man, and frogger ones.
