    Default OT: Black Friday

As we all are aware tomorrow is the biggest shopping day of the year (black Friday). I personally never would get up at 2-3am in oder to stand in line at some of these stores that open at 4 or 5am in order to save 5-10 bucks.

I'm just curious as to how many of you guys are going to go out fight the crowds, and stand in line for a few hours just to say you were one of the first 100 people that bought a toaster over for $1.99.

    Mr Nuts,

2k for a 60" plasma LG brand is a very good price.

Downside LG'S plasmas are not in the same league as Samsung,Pioneer,JVC,Panasonic,or Sony.(IMO)

Although i do believe Sony is getting out of the plasma bizz and concentrating on LCD'S.

    Is it a 1080p or 720p?

    Plasma's & LCD's with 1080 resolution,named 1080p by manufacters have 1920x1080 native reolution.

These HDTVs have 1920 pixels from left to right, and 1080 top to bottom. There the 1st tv's that can potentially display all the detail in the 1080i signal from HDTV broadcasts.
As well as 1080p high def DVD'S from Blu-ray
    and HD DVD players.

The 720s have 1366x720 resolution and are called 720p tvs.
Their screens have half the amount of pixels as 1080p tv, so they have to convert 1080i HD signals to a lower resolution.

While a 1080p tv can display finer detail then a 720p set, resolution alone doesn't determine picture quality.

Other factors are involved, don't misunderstand me a 720p set that does everything right will have excellent pic quality, but an equally adept 1080p will be even better.

Your better off with a 1080p set.

I hate how these stores have all these great deals but if you read the fine print it says only 30 per store.

the super bowl draws a huge audience not just because its the game for the championship but because it has become an american EVENT. a lot of people who don't care who wins will watch the game. the day after thanksgiving has also become an event as well. my wife and future daughter in law are getting up at 3 am tomorrow and going to a store because it makes them feel they are part of something big. i liken it to how i feel when the college football season begins and that first game is on tv.

    I hear that.

I hate this time of year. One because of the crowds in the stores, but it seems people get even dumber behind the wheel. Traffic is bad as it is at some points, but it is even worse during this season.
