I here you guys talking all the time about how books bar "pro players'. What does this mean? is it based on how much you bet? So what is the cut off? Is it a dime per game? or $500 per game. At what point does the book label you as a "pro player". When you win? and how much is too much? For what length of time if you are on a streak, how long does it have to last for them to send you packing?

There are several things bookmakers commonly look for when profiling a player. The first is: did he get a good number? If all your bets are always at the best number on the screen, there's a 90% chance you're a pro player.

The second thing: are you a limit player? If you always bet limits (at good numbers), you're close to 100%.

Third: do you use bonuses properly? If you pass all 3 of these tests, you're a professional (even if you've lost money in the last 12 months).

Justin, I think it depends on the book.

The definition in your post is the most correct one, certainly the one I would use, but would not apply to all books.

For example, at bodog, just betting dogs and you are a pro. At sportsbook.com, betting over and fav makes you a pro. At Sbg, betting what a radio show personality tells you to bet makes you a pro. At sportsinteraction, winning too much makes you a pro.

So if a book says, we don't want professional action, no one knows what in the world that means.

its defined as being able to win lots of money consistently

several casinos in town (vegas) wont take my bets on certain sports

I personally have helped implement the new NO MONEY PLAYS at the blackjack table in Vegas. Now u have to buy chips. U cant just throw down a bunch of hundreds and money plays anymore. That was my favorite thing to do. I'll kill a casino and a sportsbook anytime anywhere.

You're a pro if you can sit on the beach, watch the sunset with a tequila, and patiently wait for your best angles to come up, in which case you bet the max.

You're not a pro if you get drawn in because you think that having strong angles qualifies you to bet the board; regardless of money management.
