Default Will Vick be back in the NFL?

Just look at all the crappy QB's in the league

Vick is better than all of them no doubt even after Prison

But i am sure instead of a running QB he will be a limping QB

For sure he will. He would be an excellent back up to have on the shelf.

You dont see him ever being a starting QB again?

BTW 10 years from now who plays Vick in the inevitable movie?

he'll be back starting....he'll come out of prison with a bible thumping act, telling the world how he found the lord in prison and all this other bs and all will be forgiven. happens all the time in this country. the two easy ways of getting out back into the good graces of the public are "finding the lord" and rehab for addicts, but since i don't believe there's any rehab for puppy killing he'll go with the former.

Of course he will be. But it will be in 2009 not 2008.

It all depends on his sentence

If its less than 9 months he will play next year

It's not a question of skills. It's more of a business decision. If you were an owner would you sign him with the risk of losing half your season ticket holders? What parent will take their kid to the game to watch a dog torturer?

I don't think the NFL Commish has any intention of letting Vick play next year...

I think you'll see a Tank Johnson situation where he does his time and THEN serves his NFL punishment which I think will be a year because Vick flat out lied to the Commish when they had their meeting.

I am in no make, shape or form condoning what Vick did. But do you honestly think Vick is worse than those playing the NFL who have KILLED PEOPLE via vehicular homicide???

The fact of the matter is that talent has always won out over character in professional sports. And it will in this instance, as well.

Someone earlier in this thread hit the nail on the head. Vick will come back shaved, saved and sorry. There will be a big PR campaign. And some team that is desparate need for a QB will sign him up. You can take that to the bank.

I wouldn't call it minor. It's not like he was speeding or run a red light.

The QB is the face of the franchise. What was the last time you saw an OL or DL in a marketing campaign?

I saw a kid that had to be no older than 8 in a Vick jersey a few days ago, I wondered what his parents were thinking letting him leave the house with that.

I think he will be back but it will be with another team, about everyone in sports gets a second shot. I think he will back in the 2010 season.

I guess we're just going to have to agree to disagree on this one.

Time heals all wounds. America is very forgiving and really big on giving second (and third, and fourth, and fifth) chances. As I said earlier in this thread, talent always wins out over character in professional sports. It will this time also.

If you think he's never going to play again in the NFL I think you're seriously mistaken.

    Vick plays in 2009.

    tblues,
I guess it could be two years (2010), but I really think it will be in 2009.

I'll bet you my Vick bobblehead if he does! Don't laugh; I still have it from the Falcons-Bengals game several years ago.

Do the Falcons regret drafting him

He did get them to sell out every game and he was a selling machine in terms of merchandise

    What a shame

He'll do a desperate comeback but the fans wont see him as an athlete but as a dogfighter promoter. He is not going to be as popular and people wont pay to see him.

I do hope he does comeback for '09 ... I think the league desperately needs more decent QBs ... this year other than Brady ... all the rest suck

He will still be in prison during the 2009 season and will be suspended for at least 12 more months past his release. Remember, he lied in the Commissioner's face, he will be punished for that as well as his crime. He might play in 2010 although the team that hires him will take a hit. Oakland would be a good spot. Just my opinion.

  32. #32

Vick will be back. If he is still healthy and capable of scrambling and causing chaos outside the pocket, someone will pay him to play.

  33. #33

No doubt, one year in prison, which is what he will be getting is nothing. He'll be out in no time, and everything will depend on what roger godell has to say before he steps his foot in the NFL again. Look at the world's formely baddest man on the planet iron mike tyson, despite all the BS he went through, more people would watch a tyson fight anyday over a lennox lewis or delahoya bout. It's all about hype and entertainment in sports nowadays.
