I prefer Sirius, they've been trying to work out the merger. From what I know both companies want to go forward with it already but the government is interfering, least that's what Howard Stern says. He believes its somehow about peoples dislike for him.
What will be so great if this merger goes through is the ability to sign up for certain packages at reduced prices. There are so many channels I don't even listen to.
They are good if your in the car a lot, but if not they are useless because same stuff on internet and most free.

Sirius stations have a commercial asking shareholders to vote for the merger. It sounds months away. They can charge whatever they want if it goes through for the short term. I think services like Rhapsody, Napster and Pandora will ultimately keep prices down once more people connect the PC to the home stereo.
Sorry, no answers to the actual Q about sports stations.

I don't think I will subscribe until there is just one satellite radio. I just would hate to get half the content.
Dan, I am sure they will find a way to cut that lifetime subscription.

Sirius is a good deal Onlooker. There are some nice radios to choose from, or you can even subscribe to a CD quality internet stream. I listen to their NFL station, Stern, and a few music stations. They added a Bruce Springsteen/Frank Sinatra channel recently.
I prefer Sirius, but they don't have MLB. As far as the merger, I doubt it goes through because the government doesn't wanna create a monopoly.

I haven't found any noticeable difference. Sirius has a bunch of configurations and systems, from car stereos, home kits, a mini iPod type of radio to take on the go, even internet streams. Never had any problems with reception.
They are on better standing than XM currently, even if this merger never goes through Sirius will be fine. Picking up Howard Stern really helped, he still pulls in roughly 6 million listeners all by himself. He received a $220m bonus for reaching subscriber benchmarks.
xm is much clearer and signal is easier to get
I would only get if they merged

I switched from XM to Sirius for Stern and one thing I would do if the merger comes through is go back to using the XM hardware.
It's ten times better and has rolling scores on the screen.![]()

I'm not sure either BBD, but I would believe your current deal would remain in tact. You would just not receive the newer channels added into the rotation, that's assuming Sirius' base channels remain the same and they simply add more without revamping the entire infrastructure.
i just got sirius about a month ago for the margaritaville radio but i don't think i could live without it. The sports are awesome and finally a place to listen to my atlanta hawksi know they suck but i am still a fan
