Default Are there any good running backs in the NFL anymore?

I miss the days where on Sunday we could watch a Barry Sanders or Emmit Smith, Earl Cambell, Tony D and on down the list. Every 3rd and 1 see now is a pass and most are in the shotgun.

I think Adrian Peterson could be in that elite class one of these days if he can stay healthy.

The one thing you have to remember though John, is that the NFL is more pass oriented nowadays. So with that being said, the dominating type running attacks we seen back in the 70,80, and 90's are relics. Hopefully in about 20 years we will see smash mouth football return to it's roots.

you can still watch Clinton Portis, since the redskins have no passing game.

    How About Cedric Benson?

The greatest 2.7 yds per carry in NFL History and they keep playing this guy.

teams are realizing more and more that it's the offensive line that matters most and thus they are rotating a couple guys through at RB.

Too bad AP can't seem to stay healthy, he could be a great.
