I like Brent. But, I fully agree about the interview thing. It has gotten out of hand with the espn/abc games, both college and pro. They treat the game as secondary during these too frequent , too long interviews. They even do it by phone. It takes away from the game and shows a blatant disrespect for the teams and the viewers.
Last week, I noticed for the first time that for MNF they told us at the start who the 2 (not 1 , but 2) interviewees would be, indicating to me that this annoyance has become an integral part of the production. It's been going on for years, but I think it's worse than ever this year.
Why am I writing all this here? I should be sending this to espn/abc. Maybe if they heard from enough who hate it......

Well, speaking of annoying announcers, am I the only one who finds Paul Maguire to be beyond irritating?.....I just don't know what it is with that guy. When I hear his voice, or when he goes into his analysis, I just cringe.

Maybe it's because he reminds of the "Quaker Oats" guy, Wiford Brimley. If that guy had told me "It's the right thing to do" one more time, I would have been up the water tower with a high powered sniper rifle.....

I think there's a lot worse than Musberger out there... Dan Dierdork comes to mind! And every word out of Kornheiser's mouth has absolutely nothing to do with the game being played. I try to synch sirius radio broadcast with the Monday night game, so I don't have to listen to Korny's drama/soap opera crap he spews out all game long. Musberger's ok in my book, especially compared to these other losers.

This is another good example of my point but "Rollins" thinks Brent is the producer and commentator... Why don't you people get it... they do what they are told... When they had Quinn's sister on the sideline being interviewed Brent didn't arrange it... When the camera's keep showing her in the crowd Brent is not cueing them to do so... That is not his job... His job is to play off of them showing her in the crowd or on the sidelines or don't you people get it!!!???

Hey DOC I like that quote.. That is certainly from back in the days of "THE NFL TODAY"... The guy I kicked and coached for has 3 years of the NFL TODAY on tape... He brought them over last year and it was really neat to watch with all the commercials too...

IMHO, the worst guy out there now is Gus Johnson of CBS. This guy yells on virtually every play, no matter if it's a 80 yard TD pass or a 2 yard gain. He may be even worse on basketball, if that's possible.

AGAIN ROLLINS' they have directors and producers... I don't know how you look at it ROLLINS' but FOR ME ANYWAY what makes sense is if the network is going to go through all this sh*t with hyping up Hawks sister and Quinn they are going to ask Brent to ride it... I get the feeling ROLLINS thinks it was all Brents idea and the networks are playing along instead of the other way around... His job to the networks is to follow the "theme"... END OF STORY!!!

If you think it's only Brent then you're TV is on mute except when Brent does games... Brent is ABC's #1 guy so he does the prime time games where most of the public is tuned in so yeah I would say the producers may have Brent set up to do just that...

It's the same with MNF... ABC is trying to expand it's market and they know you are going to watch even if Rosanne does the play by play... They don't care about you because they already have you... ABC's idea is pretty good... I don't like KornHole but he plays the "I am an idiot about football so explain it to me like I am 2 years old" role very well.. Well that is the majority of the public and he is there for them to relate to..

Most have not played a down of competative football and don't understand the x's and o's...

I would even say MOST OF YOU don't know the differance between a trap and a dive...much less things like stemming on defense.. They have gotten better with explaining certain things.. I would say most of you know the differances in coverages like cover 1 and cover 3...as well as things like a screen... Most of the public didn't know about these 20 years ago...
