Default London Olympics to build temporary 1.1 billion dollar stadium?

The 2012 socialist-trust fund baby and state run camp confiscated as children athletes, Olympics will be held in London. They are going to saddle the already beaten down with taxes to pay royalty peasants billions to put on the grand bogus bash.Just the stadium alone which will be temporary where much of it will be dismantled after the Olympics will cost 1.1 billion US.

Sounds like a sound investment to me that will lose billions!Oh,but it will put London on the map and people around the world will make up for the cost of putting on the olympics by buying more English tea and crumpets.I hate those lame excuses politicians give to justify some project losing billions of dollars.

It was always the plan to reduce the capacity afterwards, so that it could host a football/rugby team and National Athletics events. In fact, it was cited by the IOC that the sustainability plan was one reason for awarding the games.

London doesn't need another 80k seat stadium.

Quoting prices in dollars is meaningless btw, it would have been 33% cheaper in dollars 4 years ago. Dollar is a worthless benchmark for things done outside the US.

Would you rather have the olympics in an open field out in the country with no seats so it would cost less?

I have a suspicion, based on past events here, that 1.1 billion $ would seem like a bargain once the final cost is known.

So Glasgow got the Commonwealth Games,i was actually refering to the money wasted on rebuilding Wembly when for a fraction of the money you could have built a bigger stadium in the west midlands at the NEC which is easily accessable by all motorway links and slap bang in the middle of the country.Sorry for not being clearer in my earlier post.

Most every country has its national stadium in the capital. The french didn't build the Stade de France in the Loire Valley, did they?
