I'm still usng IE 6 - heard some negativinty about IE 7.

And since Microsoft's browser is reputed to be unsafe, thinking of switching. What best? Firefox? Mozilla (or is that the same as Firefox?) Opera.

I would want the bar on top that shows Stop, Refresh, Print, Mail, etc without having to hit a drop down box

IE7 crashes a lot. The only thing I like about it is the multiple tabs function.

Firefox has had the multiple tabs function forever. IE tries to copy Firefox with its updates but still comes up short.

I use IE still to this day. No problems that are of any concern really. I have Firefox as well, and have never taken a great liking to it so much. Creature of habit maybe. I think people like to find an alternative to IE and proclaim it so much better in accordance with the prevailing thought in the IT world that Microsoft is the evil empire. Nonsense as far as I'm concerned. If not for MS where would we be in personal computing - that is what I have to say. Not so evil. MS is the one single corporation that had the most impact on productivity gains and our economy, therefore our lifestyle over the last 15 years. We all have a great many thanks for MS. Just my opinion. I don't own their stock lol.

I was one of the IE diehards, too- but made myself get used to Firefox and wouldn't go back now.

I installd Firefox a few days ago.

All OK ----- until I tried to dload a photo from my files to an ebay auction.

It showed only the title of the photo, not the actual photo, so I couldn't pick and choose (I usually have two or more any photo, to make a choice).

That is ebay's Basic download function. They have an advanced one, but it doesn't show up with Firefox.

I'm starting to think that the reason FF has a better rep than IE re security is that FF does not allow Java or active x, programs that may entail more risk.

Anyone who may know a fast solution to the ebay problem? I'm sure there are some folks who can spend many happy hours doing plug-ins, add-ons, updates etc, but I don't want to spend more than 10 minutes max on it.

Whatever else spare time I have I'd rather use trying to pinpoint winners from the weekend games.
