Default OT No kids trick or treating on my block

Welll, I bought lots of goodies for the kids and i set up a scary prop on the front stoop of my building and I sat out there and no one came by.

I guess kids don't do trick or treat any more. Its sad, that was some of my happiest memories.

We only got 34. Used to get a lot more.

They'd rather sit inside and play video games.

I don't live in the best neighborhood. Most of the people on my block are Spanish. Maybe it is a cultural thing?

I got plenty of kids starting at about 5:15. Mostly small kids with a few older ones. By 7:30 I was out of money. Yes money, I gave out nickels and dimes. The kids and their parents have nothing to fear from my treats.

Maybe I got set up too late. It was about 9:00. I got home late from work. My building is a secure building, so I had to go outside on the front stoop.

9...???? yeah I would say that's too late unless you're on the West Coast... hahahahaha 9..????

My old coach who lives in a suburb here said he must have saw 500 kids... He said it was a party scene on that block... People had their garage doors open and partying while they were giving out candy...

Anyway good for all you guys for giving out to the kids or at least trying...

They don't come out like they used to. When I first moved in we got more than a 100 and today there was 25 tops.

I haven't answered the door. I did buy myself some chocolate and candy corn though to enjoy while watching the rerun of last years AFC Championship game.
