    Default Buying points in NBA

Can some of the posters her explain to me why buying points is not a good idea. I know about the 1/2 point calculator, but a lot of posters just don't like buying points. why?

Perhaps because many individuals base their decisions on gut feelings, conventional wisdom, and astrological predictions, as opposed to on the underlying mathematics.

You need to win a slightly higher percentage of games to break even if you buy the half point - but why bet games where you think the half point is going to be necessary?

You might as well why you would ever place a bet on a game that's going to lose?
