Tow? hmm I dont know. It probably earns close to six figures but not a lot of growth potential without considerable investment and time. The right buyer could justify paying in the $70k range I guess.

Do they? I really dont know a lot about other sites and their traffic Thats true. Its a thread and I'm shooting from the hip.
We subscribe to Hitwise and I've never seen them make the most active list. But there are a lot of sites that are not talked much about that are very popular like scores and odds. They have monster traffic.

I laugh at some of you idiots.
600k? This site is at a minimum worth 3million. The services they offer and the sponsorships alone. They give out roughly 200,000 a year just with the points system alone. Have you also realized that they spend about 200,000 on the bash as well. Which is free to all posters. C'mon guys use your head. i say this site is bringing in about 1.2 million a year in revenue. As far as selling worth thats a whole different story but i dont see them selling for any less than 7 million.

-well-over one million dollars sounds right to me-
-do you know how much money flows around in this business and how many people are wanting to network with the life-blood of the industry. The books and the gambling degens.
-if you see how many different independant sponsors of contests they have here and all the advertising coupled with the google page ranking and rate of growth- it is hard to picture prospective buyers not viewing this place as being somewhat of a goldmine
google "superbowl squares contest" you know what pops up first? sbr

Covers has to be worth alot more than $9 mill. It's hard to value SBR since I don't know any numbers, how much bookies pay for ads etc. But I would guess $5 mill at least?

I mean, if you get a major investor interested and they want the site, $5 mill is nothing.

Definitely 7 figures. Also depends on how the corporate structure is organized? For example a corporation with a mid-sized debt load is considerably more valuable than a corporation with all equity holders.

Yeah he does Durrrr. Check out the advertising rates. It is really easy to come up with 1.2mil there. And as a going concern a corp. w/ 1.2 mil in revenues has a valuation of at least3x.

Ahhh. Yeah, I don't think the points (or the bash for that matter) effect the valuation, except that it shows they have high enough revenue to do these things and offset w/ a deduction. If a point = .13 and there are 1000 users logging in every day for 7 points then .13*1000*365*7 = 332k/year. However, they receive many of these points back from the casino/SB.
Also, if you believe that revenue is 1.2mil you would only need to hold the business for 6 years to get to 7mil (albeit in revenue). I think 7mil is a good estimate (maybe more).
For one, I wish SBR was publicly traded, when/if offshore is allowed back in the States stock in this company will soar.

I think 3X revenue is a good general guideline for all business. Popular websites were going for a lot more than 3X a couple years ago. Not sure what any have been valued at lately. But the number of daily visitors and active members would also affect the value. I remember the values put on Facebook and Adult Friend Finder were crazy. Way more than 10X revenue due to perceived potential and number of members. I would think that since it is based on an illegal activity in the US the site would have less value than one that was based on a legal one. I also wonder if US legalized internet gambling if it would make the value skyrocket or hurt it. I could see both sides. If MGM,Harrahs etc ran some books the ratiings wouldn't be as important. But it would probably draw in more players who might have more discussions. I guess it would come down to if the US sites advertised here or not. If they did it would probably skyrocket.
