I wasn't impressed at all with the way he ran up the score in the game. It was 38-0 and they were throwing on 4th and 2 from the 5 yard line. WTF?

I thought I was watching some BCS college game where the team was trying to move up the rankings by increasing the margin of victory.

I guarantee there are coaches taking notice and they won't be forgetting his lack of sportsmanship in the future. Wouldn't shock me to see a fat lineman inadvertantly fall on Brady's knee at some point.

Why is it that the losers always get to define "sportsmanship"?

Fans pay good money to see these games. If the defense can't stop them then they can go home to mommy with their tails between their legs and cry their eyes out. I don't even care about the Pats, but I love Belichick.

Brady & Belichick know damn well the risk they're taking that one of these "sportsmanship" morons will pull a cheap shot when down by the zillion point deficit they they earned. All the more reason to run it up on these pathetic teams while they're on the field.

I was actually an admirer of BB until this season. At this point he reminds me of Buddy Ryan (Classic dickhead).

You play the game to win and all the way through. I'm not advocating he should punt or run every down with a big lead. However, going on 4th and 2 from the 5 with a 38 pt lead is just ridiculous.

I agree going for it on 4th and 2 from the other teams 5 yd. line is ridiculous, I call it padding the stats for a player possibly. I guess he badly wants to see Brady break Mannings record. That is what I think. I think it has to do something with the league also.

I really think that he is going to try to go undefeated this season and turn himself and the team into NFL legends. I think he wants this to be known as the greatest team to ever play the game. He wants people 200 years from now to look back at the 07 Patriots and say WOW.

Godfrey had a problem with B. not showing respect by running up the score. So the Pats should have done what the Chargers did? Score 35 pts by halftime and not a single pt in the 2H? That may be professional and showing respect for the 50 or so people on the other sideline. But it sure as hell doesn't show respect for the 100,000 people in the stands, who got to see only one half of football. Give them half their money back, if respect is such a big thing.

(Total bettors would have noticed that the Chargers game stayed 1/2 pt under, and Pats game only went over with the 52-0 score by the backup QB... So, from that angle, Washington didn't deserve any respect. At least the other Pats opponents put a couple of TD's on the board.)

I'm a Patriots fan, but Belichick is a classic dick. I think he's pissed because none of the big name coaches defended him after the spying, so now he's running the scores up on everyone.

Since when is anyone obliged to run the ball when you're five yards out, and then what? What happens if they make the two yards for the first down? What the **** do you do then?

For that matter why not take it a step or two further and criticize them for marching down the field in the first place on that play. Perhaps what they should have done was hand the ball to the Skins and let them score.

Football is played for the fans first. I know of no other sport where destroying your opponent is considered disrespectful. Looking at it from a cultural angle I suspect this comes from the black community, which tends to be on the fence first where it comes to not showing respect. In European soccer a 7-0 thrashing (comparing 1 goal to a TD) would never - not ever - draw those complaints from the defeated team. They would look at their own poor performance instead.

Would you watch a baseball game if a team is up by 10-0 and they start to strike out on purpose so the game will finish faster?

Would you watch a basketball game if a team is up by 50 points and they start to throw airballs so the game will finish faster?

Belichick is playing what they call "football". His team plays on every down and that is just plain "football". Anyone offended by their (NE) talent should stick to baseball where 20 runs is not "running up the score". Maybe in the future they can have Brady fumble on every play in the second half to make you guys happy....
