Should we ban scammers and cons from the SBR Forum?

I actually like a couple of them as posters but they can't seem to separate their business from having fun posting. I'm afraid someone here or a new guy will not recognize their game and get hurt.

Any opinions?

Without naming names I assume you're meaning people who are raiders of offshore accounts and make A Killing from promoting dodgy books?

Well I say keep 'em here. Along with everything else, they're attention seekers - if you ban them, they'll only crawl back under a different handle. At least if they're posting under their current identities then it's easier to keep tabs on them.

That is an odd question/point coming from a forum which, as recently as a few months ago, had a sub-forum dedicated to jjgold whose name is synonymous with information that is misleading to newbies.

That aside, my answer is yes. To my way of thinking, it would be a better forum without scammers. I'm glad SBR is at least thinking about these quality issues and I hope you act on it.

John how do you know if someone a scammer. You will spend more time checking each poster out than working or posting. All there going to do is use another computer come under a different screen name.

List well known scammers. send a email out to all new members who they should look out for. or you will waste a lot of time, like i did.

A scammer is someone that through dishonesty attempts to seperate you from your money. This Rich Coast clan was taking money from rich coast and telling everyone they were solid even though they were not even paying.

We will tolerate all kinds of posters but not those that are here working for a book to lure players into the dangerous books they work for.

got ya John, newbies and oldies alike should just use the SBR ratings guide. I came accross SBR after being scammed 2 years ago and thru them I found First Fidelity and Cris and have been happy ever since. Unfortunately unless the word gets out in the gamming world about SBR, most people will find out when the horses have left the barn. I dont give a shit if Jesus himself is posting on this forum if its not B+ or better i dont touch it!

Raiders is certainly not a scammer. I also don't think banning RPM or TOW is a good move. Some posts might be out of line and their may be a lot of spin on this RCS situation, but what else is new. Scammers would be AK or Patrick McIrish. JMO

Fill me in on who I have scammed. LOL. You are fine with people sucking folks out of their cash but you can't move past a personal dealing I had with an agent in 2003 that you know nothing about? You're obsessed with me, always have been. Why? I tried to warn this moron about touts 3 or 4 years ago. Nothing malicious about it, just felt sorry for him, he or she has never been able to forget it....

Patrick, not paying 50k in debt which you still owe Dave is scamming. If you think over the years people will forget and move beyond that maybe you are right. But some won't, certainly not me. A guy who stiffs a guy for 50k is a scammer in my book.

As for me being obsessed with you. I guess I am obsessed with AK, Jacob, Ido, and Madcapper too. All are stiffs or scammers I have called out as well when they attempt to manipulate other posters or when scamming posters come up.

I won't be banning anyone personally, I don't think that is good move with much more experienced mods around. But if they start banning scammers and stiffs, you will be a likely recommendation.

i don't think banning them is a good idea. apart from the big problem determining who is a scammer and who isnt, is a pretty subjective task, also people who have a bit of sense will sound found out who they can trust here anyway. and people that don't will probably be scammed anyhow, be it somewhere else.

i kind of like the variety of posters on this forum.

Knock it off you duplicitious twit, I don't owe one person in this world a quarter! Certainly not the Shrink/Dave. If I did I would not be posting under the same handle, I would have moved away and you'd have never heard from me again. I don't hide because there is no reason to. BTW the number wasn't 50k, it was 245k. Everyone who had a thing coming has already collected or is still collecting. You'd have to ask the man who made the bets how far along he is in clearing his record, mine was clear from the start once all the facts came out.

As for banning me you'd have banned me from the start if you could. You don't need a reason other than this blind hatred and obsession you got going on. Your bringing in my actual issues with the hurricane wiping out my place shows a lot of class. I didn't ask for a thing and got a ton of support none the less. If you want to keep going with this that is cool.

I talk to Dave on a regular basis and I still have not received invoice for that software deal yet alone the software.

AK I know you have evolved from young scammer to a hybrid of old friend and JJ (you founds some earns, but still post nonsense at times). You certainly have tried to scam books in the past with Olympic in terms of bets not made and fake referenced used to try to get credit. I hope you have moved past all this. Hopefully all bans will be considered over the weekend and decisions will be final in a couple days.

I just told you what the total was Laker, everyone has collected or is collecting if they wanted their money. If they are not getting it then that's on them, not me. Many have tried to discredit me in hopes of silencing me but I am going to say what I got to say, LOL. I see you declined my offer of coming out to look over your hurricane damage huh? If you check my IP you can see I am not only close to you when here, I'm in the same county Jason! Yeah I got an office here! Why don't I come by and see if I can help you out too? LOL. No sense you groveling on the forums for money, maybe I can donate to the cause you poor suffering man you.

Bottom line is I went through the same storm you did and probably lost a lot more, you don't see any threads from me begging for help do you? Probably a good situation for a conman to take advantage of though, props to ya.

I don't even like Raider, but I don't think he a scammer. Like most people they trust people when they talk to them over the phone or in person. If some of your guys definition is a scammer is a person that owes another person. Then 70% of the people i know are scammers. I dont think a scammer would be all out in the open every day. And why bann them so they can come under a different name and so called scam some more.

Scammer or crook know ling selling or pushing a bad product or service on someone. Raider will not knowling do that.

So your position is people running the forums and who have a huge opportunity to mislead players for personal gain are okay. Their posts may be out of line and deceitful but no harm done in your opinion, whats a few hundred posters if they get stiffed. However if you hear about a personal debt between two parties that is a good reason to be banned?

Good luck talking John into that one. He's not my biggest fan but he knows I am not the one to be concerned with. You struck out trying to get Shrink to fire me, good luck on this effort to have me banned. What a gutless punk you are.

A fellow poster who I respect a lot and who went through a fire himself and knows how it is to start over passed the hat. And I was extremely grateful.

My entire neighboorhood is no longer in existence (that is what happens when one lives half block from the beach). It isn't a matter of what buildings are left, none are. I am not going to prove anything to you. If you really cared instead of just posteruring I would send photos, FEMA check scans, FEMA site reports to a third party like the Major or whoever. I know you don't actually care, but I would do it, what is another 5 minutes wasted on the issue.

No need to send me the FEMA stuff, I am right here! I can jog down to where you are and see it for myself!??? What are you afraid of, I am not a violent man at all, bring a friend or two if you are worried. I lost all kinds of stuff but I had insurance, you lived a half block from the beach and didn't? I'm far from a rich man but with insurance I didn't need the forums to pass the hat for me, man you must have really made out. You got insurance, you hit FEMA up, and then used the forums for donations as well? Lot of people also went to Red Cross and hit the jackpot again. Good gig I guess, wish I had thought of doing all that...

So seriously LakerFan, you got help from FEMA? Apparently so if you have all that information lined up. Just weird because I know for a fact you can't get FEMA help unless you have no insurance. Not insured and living a block from the beach? Maybe Ocean Springs? Gulfport?

I hope you told FEMA about all your forum contributions you recieved, if not that would be scamming. As well any compensation from here hopefully was included. Careful, no need to get yourself banned under the new scammer guidelines you want to enforce here. LOL.

Patrick, I am done with it, I think is pretty clear how your operate. You can make veiled threats all you want. I will continue to point out you stiffing a guy over bets. If you think over time people will forget and just let you slide, you are wrong. I think this thread speaks pretty clear for itself. If you or anyone else think a long rift on my getting wiped out by a hurricane changes any or that, so be it.

Is amazing I can bet and post for four years offshore, and the only guys I can find who even come close to calling me a scammer are Patrick McIrish and AK (when he is in the mood). Pretty interesting considering the thousands of posts I have, the close to a hundred books I play(ed) at, the fact that all the forum owners know me by name and most don't even get along with me. And you come up with the hurricane angle? Good for you. I am off for the afternoon, continue to try to make your point if you will.
