You can shake up the wagering world with a million dollar bet but you wouldn't even be noticed in the market with a million... I'm not saying you're broke but just saying too small of potatoes for anyone to notice.. Make a hundred million and then you might have to worry...

It is insider trading because you have knowledge that was not made public. It does not matter if the employee was an executive or not.

The fact is that what you know may not effect performance anyway. They feds could have been there for any number of reasons and it would be nearly impossible to prove. The only way I would worry is if you don't usually short stocks, if it was a high net and if the stock tanks it would seem very suspicious.

Most major companies at this point do not cook their books like Sham said. In my company we get audited at least 3 times a year in my department. No one wants to get caught doing anything the least bit shady after Enron and the others.

They could have, but that didn't happen here. Look, your not going to get busted, so don't worry. it seems this information is public now, but the fact is that before the information was public you knew about it and you found out from someone inside the company. The answer to your original question is yes this is insider question. But in your case, as long as it wasn't a huge amount of shares, you have nothing to worry about.

This stock will absolutely plummet when trading resumes. I just missed out on an absolute killing no doubt, but as Rollins stated I would have been a prime target for insider trading allegations as I rarely short. The SEC's gotten pretty good with nabbing people on this kind of stuff, so it might have been for the better. Thanks for the heads up just a little ahead of time again Patrick...

Hey Pat, this fella Ganchrow makes a very important point, if his statement is correct, when i would give my play to my stock guy,he will know that info and try to turn me ,the news must be early early.


Any news recieved through the media does not qualify.

Make sure your time frame is correct pat,as timing here and most anywhere will surely be the difference in making a score or getting a sore.

At the moment i cannot see him having an agenda by giving out false times, either way hopefully someones made a friendly mistake. perhaps a time zone error.
