Default Calvin Ayre challenging 1st Tech's Scott Lewis to a 3-round MMA Bodog Fight

Just found this one while reading Calvin's blog just now.

Talk about going off the deep end.

I, Calvin Ayre, am challenging 1st Tech's Scott Lewis to a 3-round Bodog Fight rules MMA face pounding. Think he'll go for it? I've got a million bucks that says even if he does—and wins the fight—I'll still come out on top.

We all have different needs… Just as a good Saskatchewan pig loves shit and mud, Patent Trolls love stealing from guys who create value in society. Thankfully as humans we do not all want the same, simple things in life or our world would be a complicated place.

I was informed today by one of my capable blog management team members that there have been four frantic web messages over the last three days (three of them sent today) coming from someone claiming to be "Scott Lewis of 1st Technology LLC". Additionally an identical copy of one of the messages was sent to Gambling911.com for them to forward to me (huh?....you are using the media as a courier for your messages to me?).

Now correct me if I'm wrong here but if you did in fact send those emails (in which case my guess is that you've been waiting rather impatiently for my reply), wasn't it your original intent to grab all my domains in the hopes that I may then try to frantically contact you? (BTW, you may recall that these domains were being held for me temporarily by a third party owned Costa Rican company that had never ever run a web site in the first place and had already wound down operations and was sitting dormant with no assets.)

What's happened since then? Has something in your "extremely" well thought out plan not work out? You're probably used to this experience in life though aren't you?

While I'm surprised that you would want to engage in this type of conversation on my blog, I also think it's unprofessional for you to be harassing me…and very bizarre, in fact. Given what you've got going on in that messed up case in the US and knowing full well that I am not involved (and knowing that there are proper [lawyer] channels in place) your emails appear to be rather desperate.

It is also a sign of desperation that you are pretending to try to examine me just to issue press releases that I will have arrest warrants issued. Your own evidence that's already been submitted proves that I am not an officer or director and it's also easy to prove that I don't own that company and the company can easily provide someone to prove what I am telling you about that company not having assets….but if you cannot steal from me by black holing my domains maybe you can embarrass me into letting you steal from me, right?

Scott Lewis: You want money. I want to hit you…repeatedly. In a lawful way, of course.

Now I don't know if those emails were really sent by you or by someone pretending to be you, but they did get me thinking. I'm thinking that maybe there is the essence of a deal here. See…we both have something that the other wants. You—being an unethical thieving Patent Troll—want some of the money that I created by actually producing a legitimate product that is favored by the consumers market. And from you? This is what I want: your face. More specifically, I covet the lawful opportunity to smash your face…repeatedly.

What I propose is that I put up US $1 million in trust with a lawyer. We then set up a three-round Bodog Fight rules mixed martial arts event at a jurisdiction in which we are licensed. If you win the fight you get the money. If I win? I'd want those now valueless domains you stole to be given back to their rightful owner. BodogTV would produce the event and own the television rights. (Your lawyer bosses can work this out with some of our lawyers.) You should have no problem with this, right? After all, that was a big testosterone move grabbing those domains and black holing them like that knowing that you were not being entirely fair wasn't it? You were going to show everyone who the tough guy was weren't you?

Remember the first few days after you first black holed those domains and I never begged you to give them back as your plan predicted? Two times I got two separate messages from you, through two different channels saying how you were going to involve the government if [that dormant company] tried to defend itself. And about that arrest warrant you are pretending in your press is possible? You have to know that there is no way that a US court has jurisdiction over me so an arrest warrant [even if improperly issued since I am not associated with that company in any way], would have no impact in reality.

How's this for a reality check: using the threat of criminal exposure to settle a civil dispute is itself the criminal act of extortion (even if as in this case you were threatening the wrong group as we are not involved in this case other than as an innocent victim as you now know for sure). I have the emails so it is documented…making you a criminal under your own system. You don't need to rely on my opinion [that your entire business model makes you a thief for the world to know you are a criminal]. If your memory needs some refreshing I can always publish those emails for you to read on my blog.

Since it now seems as though you are a fan of my blog, there is no need for me to send a formal letter inviting you to accept this challenge. You can simply accept by sending me an email on the now familiar "Ask Calvin" section of my blog. We can put this together quite easily. And who knows, in the end we may both come out winners. You win the fight, the money…and I win simply by having the opportunity to give you a ****ing good face pounding.

Three rounds. What do you say?

I saw that blog described on another forum as a toilet camera into the mind of a man who is now barking mad. He writes emails to himself and gambling 911 and signs them as the Scott Lewis guy, and then makes up a blog entry about it.

It's weird to watch.

Pure self promotion. Silly but effective?

The site is delving more and more into areas that are not related to gambling (entertainment, fantasy, music....) .......perhaps looking to move away from it in the future?

I wish Bodog and Ayre would focus more on posting lines earlier than propping up this crap.

Great to know a book owner like that has his book rated an "A-" on here. If only he would spend the same energy on customer service and prompt payouts. Calvin's screwed people countless times in the past, and will one day screw all his customers again.

BB how did Bodog "screwed people countless times in the past"? Are you saying you know of even one no-pay case?

John I'm referring to all of Calvin's past business stiffings up in British Columbia (for which he still faces some serious trouble). The guy with the problem above is one of the few no-pays of which I'm familiar, with virtually everyone continuing to wait longer on withdrawals even now than say with a Greek or Matchbook. He still owes a fair amount of money to a number of business partners he has stiffed in the past. Human resources 101 tells you that the best indicator of future behaviour is past behaviour. He may be a billionaire now, but I still believe that if the day comes that his business his looking unprofitable, he'll take everyone's money and run again. I don't care if it's for $5 or $5000, if someone is willing to steal from someone else we've got a problem.

There are two things, however, that I will give Calvin and Bodog which were absolutely genius and key to their success. #1) Calvin is a brilliant self-promoter, and has marketed bodog very, very well. Also, #2) Bodog's dual lines from the onset were absolutely brilliant, particularly padding points and a -115 to sides and totals that they projected customers would take.

This business is all about money, but I do believe you are peerless when it comes to accurate information and player protection in general. Bodog would be the most glaring exception in my opinion (granted others will no doubt say Cascade)....
