Question Gambling regulation in Costa Rica?

Will all the recent turmoil over the correlated parlays I was wondering if there is any regulation in place at all overseas?

For example, if I want to move to CR and start a sportsbook, do I have to go before a responsible regulatory board. Or do I just need enough cash to buy the license? Do you even need a license?

Does any regulatory body monitor the books already licensed or are we dealing with a straight wild west industry here?

There is no regulation, offshore gambling is highly illegal in many including the usa and many other countries, books can steal anything they want from you and not one person can do one fukkin thing. Always remember that playing offshore.

Its like double gambling, first you have to win and then you have to get paid.

So basically anybody with the capital and a plane ticket can start an online sportsbook. Wow. I always knew the little regulatory stamps you see in the corner of a sportbooks website were bullsh1t.

I guess it shouldn't come as a surprise when a book steals from it's customers then. There is no one to answer to, no chance of having your business pulled.

Makes a U.S guy thankful that a handful of decent business men still no how to run a book with integrity. (The Greek, Matchbook, etc.)

I think it's going to be difficult to move this industry forward in the U.S without regulation.

CR is still the wild west. Its a shame that the bookmakers here in my opinion lack the business sense to know if they would work together to stop fraud books like cascade they would come out ahead in the long run.

Other places like curacao and panama are slightly better. They do require a license but there is pretty much zero enforcement of the license obligations.
