sportsbook.com will alwys get players because of the url so they can stiff anyone and get away with it, they do not care about forums as they do not dent their business one bit.

SBR has in fact helped me determine which books I should play with. The fact is thousands of bettors have sent in reports to SBR; they do not send them to me, and these reports, email for assistance, and posts are information I would not have had anyway. As far as BOS goes, they had soft lines just like bodog, because they do not take sharp action. Bodog however will pay anyone who wins. BOS has stiffed sharped bettors which is why SBR gave them a low rating, and I would not have known this. I never got 100% bonus offers from BOS. They offered a lot of bonuses on their website, but at the time a lot of the reputable books were also offering bonuses. All the books seem to have cut back on bonuses. It is interesting that there are a couple books SBR did not warn me about that gave me terrible service, and then one month later SBR dropped their rating because of other complaints. So SBR is not perfect but I do thank them for warning me about BOS and sportsbook.com, specifically, because they have offered bets I would have taken and I would have been stiffed. I absolutely do not always agree with SBR ratings, and have been complaining heavily about one of the books rated A, but they have improved their service so I am not going to mention them by name any more. I have also complained about Bodog's dual lines and asked SBR to take them off of the SBRline service if two customers will log in at the same time and get two different lines depending on the way they bet. I am not convinced Bodog does this. What I think they do is ask sharp bettors to call in, and then give them the market line rather than the soft lines they are offering everyone else which is somewhat different. Anyways, I do not rely on SBR only I have made judgements on books using other information.

As far as sportsbook.com going out of business, they are acting very similiar to BOS. A policy of stiffing sharp players and then hoping to attract recreational players is not a business model that in my opinion will work. It won't work, because the sharp players will create so much bad publicity about the sportsbook, even if the recreational players don't understand what a correlated parlay is when folks like shrink and SBR start warning them they will listen. There is a reason that most sportsbooks on the internet pay without a gaming commission ordering them to do so; because they want to stay in business. I suggest that a book that doesn't pay even 1% of their players is going to go out of business, and if you disagree let's wait and see what happens to sportsbook.com. Betonsports also had a great url name.

Quite an excellent post from top to bottom. (Even the parts critical of SBR)

For SBR, Bill and Justin and company ratings are changed very slowly. Even now, after a this blatant theft case with sportsbook.com the rating is being held at D+ for now. It will probably drop in due course. Its a measure twice and cut once philosophy. You can almost always find advanced warnings of a downgrade in the player review section on sportsbookreview.com.

Yeah his post is ok.. but let's face it SBR has now shown it was off on their rating in the first place... You and others are calling this a theft case with some even saying Sportsbook.com should be shut down but you don't drop their rating..? Why...because their rating was wrong in the first f*ckin' place and now it's clear... If they were a C or B you would have somewhere to drop them... To drop them to an F with Cascade or even comparing them to Cascade for something this "SHRINK" says they shouldn't even be doing anyway.. is out in left field type of thinking...

SBR ratings are like BCS rankings... Some are on and some are not...

For a player who wants to really do research the information is here. He can search his book or click on the info link on the rating guide and get all the goods. Everyone won't agree on how the ratings react to the issues but the issues are there for all to see, as is the case with Sportsbook.com.

Sportsbook.com will likely be downgraded. We are talking with management right now who is looking at the cases on an individual level. But, these band-aid fixes for SBR readers and squeaky wheels won't keep them off the blacklist as we are calling for policy changes. Stand by.

Now this .....I can definitely agree with as I have spent countless hours reading those reviews through the ratings guide.. I never really paid attention to the ratings and still don't but as you mentioned the information is there for the researcher...

What kind of policy changes ?

SBR's ratings are the best reference in the industry.

I have always said they should be taken plus or minus a letter grade as a margin of error. If you play at an SBR A book, it is alomst certain they are no worse than B.

Yes I've seen you mention that in the past. I'd like to think they are closer than that and get better every year.

Sportsbook.com is a good example. Despite their recent theft their rating will not change much. Perhaps D+ to D. It is a shock but they have always been less than honorable. Its an action we would expect from an F to D rated book.

I think F should be reserved for books that are not paying anyone.

D- is appropriate for books still operating but have open stiff jobs. I would include Sportsbook.com, BetUS, Oddsmaker, and SBG Global in that group.

My point is, using my margin of error of plus or minus a letter grade, as long as you play at an SBR B or higher, you can know you are playing at a book that is at least a C.

sportsbook.com is back and in order...i received a withdrawl check from them for $2500...took about a week, drawn on a U.S. bank...also, got back credit for $2000 for a check that was bogus, drawn on lebonon, beruit bank. all in all...they seem to be back on track...i have been w/ them for over 5 years now...and was really worried that i was going to be ripped off...but, i guess they got their payment system back on track.
