5 Dimes problem
Hi, this is my first post, I am asking for advice regarding my 5 dimes account. I signed up a few weeks ago and took the bonus and bet baseball. (And yes, I am a bit ahead!
Today when I tried to sign in I got the following message:
It has been determined this accout is involved in a pyramid scheme of affiliate accounts. You must contact me on Live Help before this accout will be reactivated. No Payouts will be processed until that time...Tony, 5dimes Operations Manager.
I thought it was just a misunderstanding, but when I chatted with "Tony" it quickly got really nasty. He was convinced I was part of a huge scheme, and did not listen to me. I have understood the affiliate thing and it is quite possible I have clicked on a banner before signing up to 5dimes, I am not sure (apparently I have since he is so upset!) He is talking about "settling" my account, which for him means paying me less than my balance. (He had lots of reasons for this, "reverse all fees paid, all bonuses, all moneybookers fees" and so on and so on) I tried to be nice to him since he has my money but it did not help.
Any of you has any experience with this Tony character?
Shall I be nice or be tough?
Any help is of course appreciated.

Tony has had some problems with people in the past. If you need some assistance with this problem please fill out this complaint form, and one of us will inquire to 5Dimes about your dispute.

Something seems fishy here, Tony isn't cursing or needlessly berating his players?

Unfortunately that is indeed the norm for Mr. Tony. Sorry to tell you Peter, but you're rapped up with about as big of a jerk as they come by. I highly suspect you're leaving out some information, but I also know from first hand and a trillion second hand experiences just how mean spirited Tony Williams is.
The guy has had a chip on his shoulder from the moment he entered the business. He apparently also calls himself "God" according to several posters and employees of 5Dimes. I've never seen a book that is run by someone who just arbitrarily curses customers succeed, but they do pay generally, so there's a lot to be said for that.
Tony's got a mean streak, but I've never known 5Diimes to cheat people out of their money. Please let us know the rest of the facts....

5 Dimes is ok but would never play at a book with people in charge that have attitude problems.

I wonder if this one caused the rule change that was just caught by the SBR rules monitor.

I never liked playing at 5dimes. They gave me a hard problem with withdrawals. I deposited using e-gold then was charged 15% for the withdrawal.
The 15% for an e-gold withdrawal was never on their rules when I deposited. E-gold was new to them at that time. They had an e-gold promo at that time.
And so, after that... no more 5dimes for me. I found them sneaky or not transparent.
Why use 5dimes when there is Pinnacle, Matchbook etc etc just to name a few?

5 dimes does NOT have a history of stealing funds
There is not enough information from this guy's post to know if 5 dimes did anything wrong. It is possible this guy did try to do an "affiliate pyramid scheme" whatever that is. There are people out there that scam the books, just like some books scam us. 5 dimes does NOT have a history of stealing from players, so I keep playing at 5 dimes until I see the facts of what happened. In general, 5 dimes would rather keep a customer and reputation than seize baseball winnings from someone who is "a bit ahead". On the other hand, if this player had lost would 5 dimes still propose settling the account in the same manner? Interesting questions, looking forward to the answers.

I agree with this post... I am not a fan of five dimes but I will stand up for them as I do Sportsbook.com... I want to know the facts first and it's possible he or the book could be wrong... I will also say that they have always been very fast with payouts and I have really never had a problem with them... I have never met this Tony guy before... I will admit I don't like what I hear about him but as was mentioned they have to watch out for people too...

You know I use 5Dimes as my primary book, and just to set the record straight I've always been treated very nicely by the customer service and wagering staff. In my experience it's only the management there that have the jackass attitude. Until I have a problem with a payout or a direct insult from them I intend to use them first.
