Default Funniest Thing About This Board to Me

It amuses me to see people start threads after their pick hits and tout themselves as all-knowing, all-seeing bad mutha truckers. But how come no one makes posts touting themselves as losers?

    LoL.

Thread Title: I PICKED WRONG AGAIN AND BLEW HALF MY BANKROLL!!!

I know I'd be starting at least a half dozen of those every other day. Carry on.

Too many wannabe bigshots; win or lose, keep your mouth shut and move on. Funny how the best cappers on this board never open their traps.

Exactly my friend. That's why they're winners. Silence is golden.

Then again, Im sure Im not the only one here who just plays for the fun of it.Win or lose, no big deal if you can afford it. I like watching the games on tv, and I put a few $ on the games Im watching.

You can probably chalk it up to human nature. When we win, we celebrate. When we lose we go home and get ready to try again.

Big difference between celebrating and bragging like a pompous ass.

I always say when I lose, I want a public apology by the thread starter here not to include me.

A gambling man with integrity never starts a thread to boast his victories.

    It's like an unwritten rule.....

We need pompous asses occasionally, if only to make us appreciate those who are more humble and gracious in both victory and defeat.

You wanna' know what bugs me the most? It's not just here at this board, but at forums all across the cyberworld and throughout life in general. I've never understood how or why people expend so much energy rooting against something or someone. I've always called them the 'anti-fans.' Take Monday night, for example, in Game 4 of the ALDS. There were millions, I'm guessing, of people watching that game just to root against the Yankees. They could care f\/ck all about the Indians, just out to derive some perverse pleasure from the Yanks losing.

The same thing goes on here between the different warring factions. John Doe says he likes Team A +6 this weekend and his archenemy has to chime in calling him a loser and saying they're going to fade them, blah-blah-blah. Just seems like such a waste of time and energy.

I never believe the people that say they win anyway. if they have to post it in a forum to feel good then they have bigger issues than just gambling.

Alright- I haven't done what you said, but let me put out an underdog pick for tonight prior to the event and then we can all celebrate after. Boxing- Rolando Reyes- started at
+275 and is still available some places at that #. His opponent Stevie Johnson is a nice crafty 5'5" southpaw who's prime was 2000. Well it's 2007 and a tall right hander with power is a bad matchup for Lil' But Bad Stevie. Good luck with the dog.

Guys are always keen on bumping up their threads when they win....but when they lose you can be sure they will bump another loser's threads before they bump their own.

about 75% of posters on here and other gaming forums dream of being touts.

I took WF first half for 500. I lost that and then I put 1,000 on FSU second half and lost that. I did win 1,000 on Navy so I'm down right now about 575 with juice. I plan to make it up either with the game tonight or tomorrow.

Willie- I hate the Yankees and the Cubs. I'll pull against them every time. My nightmare would be a Cubs/Yanks WS.

I admit to bad handicapping and mistakes all the time. I'm one who likes to learn from mistakes.

There is a guy named -neverwins- on another forum who starts threads touting himself for sucking.

There are a lot of teams I don't like, raiders, the Cubs being one of them and that dates back to one of their fans welshing on one of the very first bets I ever made back in 1962 (what is the interest on 5¢ over 45 years ). Lots of teams that it wouldn't bother me if they never won another game.

But if I'm sitting there not enjoying myself watching a game because I hate both teams, I just don't watch it. Can use that energy towards something constructive, not destructive. Besides, if all you're doing is hoping for a team to lose, then you never can win in my opinion.

I think there should be a whole sub-forum titled Attention Whore. That would be a great place to group all those posts so the rest of us can skip 'em in the other parts of the forum.

No, not really. I was cheering for the Indians as they're the last of my futures bets with a shot to ease the losses. But I don't root against the Yankees much. I've made money on the Yankees in my lifetime.
