Food Freebies and Deals to Honor Tax Day

(CANVAS STAFF REPORTS) - To make your day a little easier and less stressful today, loads of restaurants across the country are offering delectable deals in honor of Tax Day.
From morning to evening, there are freebies and discounted eats up for grabs at chain locations and some local joints on April 15.
Boston Market : Buy one individual plate and get one free from April 15 to April 18 with the coupon available on their website. Some restrictions apply.
Cinnabon : The sweet chain offers two free "Tax Day Bites" cupcakes to "make Tax Day less taxing" after waiting in line at the Post Office. Pick up your free bites from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at participating locations – not including airport or travel plaza outlets.
Dairy Queen : If you're in Washington, D.C. the Blizzardmobile will hit the IRS building, giving away its new Mini Blizzards from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. outside the office as a "symbolic gesture."
Maggie Moo's : Get some "Ice Cream Relief" on Tax Day! The Ice Cream chain has small sample slices of its new MaggieMia's Ice Cream Pizza from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
McCormick & Schmick's : If you're up for some seafood on Tax Day, head to the restaurant's bar for its Tax Day Celebration. They are offering $10.40 dinner and drink specials and bar patrons will get a $10.40 gift certificate for future use.
Mr. Jim's Pizza : Get Mr. Jim's 1040 Pizza when you become a fan on Facebook and pick up a free small, one-topping pizza.
Papa John's : All last-minute filers can count on Papa John's to get discounted pizzas on Tax Day. Now through midnight, you can use the "1040" promotional code at
www.papajohns.com to order a large, original crust pizza with three toppings for $10.40. "Last year more than 85,000 people across the country redeemed our '1040' online offer, and experienced a slice of tax relief from Papa John's," said Jim Ensign, vice president of marketing communications for Papa John's.
P.F. Chang's China Bistro : Whether you are in the mood for dining in or take-out, pop into the China bistro to get 15 percent off food purchases.
Sotto Sopra : If you're in Baltimore, you can enjoy $1 Pasta Night to take the bite out of taxes. This deal is in to benefit the Kennedy Krieger Institute.
Starbucks : For all those Starbucks regulars, you can be part of the "The Big Picture" – part of the company's green project – by bringing in a reusable travel mug and enjoy a free cup of brewed coffee.
Taco Del Mar : Get a free taco on Tax Day by downloading and printing a coupon on its Web site.
T.G.I. Friday's : On April 15 get a Tax Day
bonus, including $5 Bonus Bites cards for purchases between $15 and $25 (excluding alcohol and tax.) For meals over $25, you'll get a $10 Bonus Bites card while supplies last. "With Friday's Tax Break, we're going to make April 15 feel like a Friday by giving our guests a break with our Bonus Bites cards," said Andrew Jordan, senior vice president of marketing for T.G.I. Friday's USA.
Whole Foods : Pig out on Tax Day! You won't pay the sales tax on anything in the store in Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama and Georgia on April 15.
