    Default Wayne Allen Root's "Winning Edge"

    This guy actually has his own TV show. I was up early Saturday morning for ESPN's College Gameday and I came across this paid infomercial on the Discovery Channel. Most of the guys were telling everybody how smart they are and all the underdogs they have picked. It was getting nauseous watching these guys. Does anyone here subscribe to their website or call their toll free number for picks?

    used to watch the "infomercial" as u like to call it. It is a waste of time. I rarely see a unanimous agreement on any games they forecast its always 2 guys on one side 2 on the other and one guy on the total. All they want is for u to use there tout service. If u ever get the urge, just flip a coin you would pro ably have a better winning percentage.

    Root has admitted that he never bets his own picks.

    He is an All-American con-man, a swindler. He makes motivational speeches to corporate imbecils. And, since there is a lot of money in it, also spins out picks for the born suckers who feel they need a "charismatic" tout to bs them.

    You have, on these boards, a handful of much better football prognosticators than any 100 people like Wayne.

    Advice: Boot Root.

    Root's favorite tactic used to be (I haven't seen him in years) to gaze into the TV camera with what I suppose he thinks is a hypnotic stare, and pitch his sh*t.

    Actually, he looks like a freaked-out fruitcake when he does that shtick. But there are enough morons out there to provide him a great living,

    I was at the green valley ranch sportsbook back in the summer of 2005 and did chat with him briefly while we were waiting in line to place our bets......so yes he does bet on some games but it was during baseball season so there wasnt much action during june

    I have never used his picks. I read his book a few years ago when I was a rookie, and quite liked it actually. It was very different from most other betting books I've read. He takes pride in being different, don't take anything for granted, you have to be physically fit in order to be mentally fit, and so on.
