To be honest I haven't noticed much. I barely post in the Players Talk section anymore...im mostly hanging out in the college football forum. Seems pretty good for now but I know what you mean DH about low quality posters.

I think the quality of this forum could be improved greatly if the starter of a thread had the ability to send posts in his thread to the private forum himself. I have started a lot of threads that Bateman and others have purposely ruined with their bullshit. If I could have just sent those posts to the private forum then the thread would have turned into an intelligent discussion instead of everyone having to read Bateman's bullshit.
And to my point that the mods refuse to ban known troublemakers, there are really only about 6 or 7 people who make 80% of the bullshit posts. If these 6 or 7 people were banned, and there has been enough outcry against them that they should be, the quality of the forum would improve greatly.

Hmm
I dont want to see people banned. But we cant have threads ruined either.
The SBR mods and forum management need to read this thread closely and figure out a way to adapt.

This isn't a reply to not ruining threads but a reply to some of the guys that cry about the threads that are started.
Who makes the determination on whether a poster is good or bad, banned or not banned?
Threads like this bore the hell out of me. The same topic is started every three days. Let's send all of these threads to the dump as soon as they are started because they are redundant.
Of course this can't be done because some people like discussing this same issue twice a week but if it were my choice I'd do that.
JJGold is the funniest poster of all time. Some guys are always complaining about him but there's a reason that he's been paid to post at many forums.

People should only be banned if they attack somebody personally. For instance there are some UK Jaime posts that got moved to the Adult section that might warrant banishment. Other than that people should be free to say whatever they want, if you don't like something you can always skip to the next post. Its not like you have to live with these people. Personally I agree with Raiders that JJ's posts are what keeps this forum going. Without his posts it would be the same things over and over.

Hear, hear!
Many of us are tired of the crap. I know I haven't been here long, but it sure didn't take long to get tired of the off-topic crap and the name calling. Even this thread has some of it. Mods, you know who it is, and you know when it's happening.
If you don't want to ban people, then maybe it would be possible to give thread-starters some power over what goes not their threads. Unfortunately, I doubt that would work.
Many forums have a rule against personal attacks. Implementing that would involve almost immediately banning some of your most prolific posters, however; you say you don't want to do that, and I suppose some people would mind (while most of us would be ecstatic). It also wouldn’t stop the idiotic spam. Just scroll up to see some of it.
I hope you do something.

What about a person who starts the attacks like Curious did a couple posts up? Why was this thread not moved and why is he/she allowed to post still.
Mods need to look at the problem posters including one who brags about it in his sig.

Hmmm I got an idea... You can pile the posts up on the + side with any comment... How about giving negative posts for attacking comments or something along those lines..?
When you feel a poster is the ROOT cause then take posts away... Some details may have to be worked out but if posts are why people post and have ghosts well maybe this can take care of two things with one shot...

Holy shit, we agree on something. "Root Cause"...well put sir. A lot of little babies starting fights on here and running to the mods after someone mounts a defense.

Well that would be us but the thing that really keeps catching my interest is the number of views certain threads have... This and some of mine and MasterBate's as well as other undesired ones get A LOT of views... In contrast I look at some of these Ad. threads and they get very little to NO views.. So explain that to me...? How does the gun that is put to your head make you go to the threads you don't like but not to the Ad. threads which I am guessing you also don't like..
I just hit new posts and see what threads I want to go in.. I do it with my own will and desire to.. If you don't like something or someone's post.. stop reading it... I'll read a post and if I don't like it I stop reading and move to the next one... I only look at maybe 10% of all threads...
My question I guess is what do you people do when you have REAL problems in life.. crist

Most guys that bash forums are the guys that do not contribute, anyone bashing me should have their head examined. I post more gambling stuff than anyone combined here.

You are one of a kid sir and a living legend to boot. Some guys have 4,000+ posts and don't even post gambling information. Sad.

I wasn´t sure what to think about JJ when i was new to the board, but i learned to like his posting style. Usually fun + gets to the point without too much blabla + good info (like that wiseguy.com site, doesnt look bad indeed).
The problem posters are guys who always bitch about the same things, or cant stop replying to posters they hate, or just spam weird stuff.
Also the mods are kinda slack often, divert that useless stuff faster and you will have a more happy crowd here.

JJ is very good for this forum... He doesn't let anything or anyone really get to him.. I'll admit I like reading his posts because he posts about everything and he ....how do they say........ keeps it real..? I'm not saying he don't bullsh*t sometimes but you know what I mean... Sometimes reading his posts leaves a bad taste in your mouth (living in old man's basement story) and sometimes he pretty funny but all in all he's a riot..

That basemant story was a riot; he got up and got 4 ice cream cones after the deed was done and they watched the Pistons game. Shit makes me laugh every time

Too many JJ imitators and contrived feuds. I know Bill and the gang are happy with all the traffic, but to be honest this forum was awesome about a year ago. We had just the right amount of chemistry with handicappers and shiit disturbers. Somehow this has turned into a free for all where there are Way to many posters here that contribute little or no value to the people who come here for capping info and some levity and humor. Lately it's turned into a gigantic pissing contest I'm sad to say!

ignore list is no good because i still see this:
"This message is hidden because EJandV is on your ignore list. "
and it is still pretty annoying to see that message 50 times in a thread.

maybe the mods could PM these people and have some kind of system where you get two warnings then you're gone....the first warning to watch one's behavior here, and warning two that the next problem and one gets blocked...the third problem...you are gone...just an idea

Lot of good ideas! Thanks guys for taking the time to put them down. You guys are officially SBR consultants.
I like the idea of warning people and giving them time off if they continue. But the problem with that is someone has to sit and judge posters and their posts.
There is a solution out there. Probably a combination of ideas right here in this thread.
How about atakdog's idea of giving the thread starter some kind of ability to weed out OT posts in the thread? Very nice outside of the box thinking.
I like the idea of user options too. Like the ignore feature.

Its a good idea.
Covers has some kind of report a post feature. I'll have that checked out.
I will say that forums in general go through phases for reasons no one knows. One needs to be careful not to make a permeant change to a temporary problem.
