    Default Ladbrokes TV Commercial sucks

You would have figured that Ladbrokes would have came up with a better TV commercial than this to air.

They should have got the same advertising company that does all those Bud Light commercial, because then it might have been something people would remember.

You be the judge of this horrible commercial.

That was probably the best part of the entire commercial.

Now wouldn't you have thought since this is the first TV ad over there to air would have been a whole lot better than this? I know I sure did.

It likely loses its effect if you don't know the personalities involved.

I actually really like it Danny. It's got good humour, and the underlying theme of getting newcomers to put their opinions to the test financially is always an effective one. I'd probably give it a B+ for content, and an A rememberance...

Looks like Ladbrokes is being investigated because of their commercials

Ladbrokes' TV gambling ad faces investigation

Even if you have watched only a small amount of television recently you have more than likely still seen Ladbrokes’ recent advert featuring a host of ex-footballers.

Well, that ad is the first by gambling companies to be investigated by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) following the introduction of the Gambling Act 2005.

The ASA has received just four complaints about the ad, produced by M&C Saatchi, featuring well-known ex-footballers such as Ian Wright, Ally McCoist and Lee Dixon.

In the ad, the footballers play stereotypical builders sitting in a cafe, with Wright challenged to "put his money where his mouth is".

The ASA will investigate whether the ad complies with the new legislation relating to advertising by gambling companies specified in the Gambling Act 2005, which states that ads must not "exploit the susceptibilities, aspirations, credulity of children, young people or other vulnerable people".

Although Ladbrokes are not surprised by the investigation, they will be defending their case strongly.

"Given that it's the first time gambling companies have been able to advertise, we're not entirely surprised there have been complaints. But we don't think we have transgressed and we will vigorously defend our case," declared Ladbrokes spokesman Kieran O’Brian.

I think people take this advert too seriously. It seems to be just a light hearted bit of fun. I mean, look at Jimmy Hill in the kitchen!

I must confess, I'm a bit of a fan of it, and I'm with you Seattle Slew on Kirsty!

I have found that Ladbrokes are planning another advert (see the link) but this time for their online casino. I wonder how this one will turn out...

With the talk and press from this deal the advert has done its job....I dont think that the commercial itself was that good but it will do its job because people will remember due to the press after......

I think this blog has proved that you are wrong Bigboydan... I think the advert is refreshing and different to all other online gambling adverts. Ladbrokes has obviously spent money on the ad, which makes a change to the awful attempt by intercasino and 888.

The advert gave Ladrokes huge awareness across the industry, and made people talk. I've heard that the rest of the company isn't fare behind. Bingo have launched an advert and Ladbrokes Casino is going live in April.

The proof in the pudding will show in their profits.. let's wait and see....
