Sorry for the newbie question but here goes. Can anyone confirm something for me. I was donking around and played a few consolation parlay cards and was wondering if I am reading it right.

When you see 500, it means you win $500 for every $100 bet, not 500 to 1.

I don't find anything in their parlay cards to be too good to be true. Ties lose, rather than reduce, and their payoff odds are either worse or the same as they normally should be.

In your case with the Pats, you picked 7 teams and have already lost 2 - minn. and denver. That means that what you win is +100, if no other teams lose. This is 1 to 1. So if you bet $50, you will win $50. If the pats fail to cover their spread, you will lose your bet completely. And ties count as a lost so they have to win by more than 7.

Thanks for the replies. Normally I just do straight wagers but decided to try a few parlays this week.

the house has a higher vig on parlays, so unless you are a pro and know when they are valuable, I would stay away from them and stick to straight wagers.
