    Default Bearding

Hello Fellas, I'm just getting into sportsbetting here and its the most fun gambling there is! I have learned a thing here or there from the forums and now I have a question.

I recently had a revolution in my sportsthinking. Limits on some really juicy bets were small so I decided I'd sign some buddies up and bet through them! Then after a little research I found that my brilliant idea had already been thought of- Bearding. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here, or if this is actually what bearding is. Browsing here I read a post by Marc about anti-bearding mechanisms where books will link you through your phone number and things like that.

I have a few friends, they have their own Netellers and they set up accounts. They make their own bets (what I tell them) and I paid them to do this. If they win they will withdraw and pay me. Is this bearding? Is this allowed? Is this wrong? I don't really see how the books will find out. I just need a little clarification here.

if you place the same bets every fackin time they will match the accounts up. my guys try to beard my ass because they are limited to fackin zero. Guys owe me money cant bet so they have their coworker bet. i dont give a ****. Just another set of ankles i might have to break.

    shit... its midnight... Merry christmas

I'd be very careful about having friends open account at the same book and place the smae wagers. If the books sees a clear pattern, they won't accuse you of bearding, they will accuse you of being a sydicate, and using multiple accounts to circumvent their betting limits. That would give the the right to confisctae your winnings. Bearding is typically done where you ahve a book that you like, but you won so much that they cut your limits to zero. So you ask a friend to join. The problem is, you ahd best have a long list of firends, because just as you got the boot, so will all of your beards

Illusion- I can only take so much. Brick takes bets from 3 guys and pretends to be a big time bookie. He knows crap about beards and the people and owners of forums who were beards at one time.

pags, you look more stupid every day. You don't even correctly understand the term 'opinionated lines', you're panicking about a $80 loss at CRIS, ecstatic with a $200 Bodog referral... Anyway, there wouldn't be anything wrong with that, however you chime in in every thread with you pathetic meaningless one-liners, you brag about how respected of a poster you are justifying your referral trolling at Covers, lol.

Mag- Why are you picking on Pags. The guy's asking honest questions and not pretending to be a big shot like Brick. There are no dumb questions. We are here to share information.

Nicely put raiders. Don't rip the guy for asking an honest question.

raiders, I agree, no dumb Qs, however they make the asking person look stupid -- these are two different things.

I would say pags does pretend to be a big shot, maybe not money-wise, but knowlegde-wise for sure and it turns out to be all shit.

Hi Marc thanks for the response

They will accuse me of being a syndicate? Is it that unheard of to have 3 or 4 guys who are friends betting the same thing? They'll just take all the money like that? I mean, look at these services that people belong to, I imagine 40 or 50 people race out and bet the same bets. Can't I just say we're friends, or how about I follow a service? I need bearding advice.

Why not just use multiple accounts with different books that won't limit you?

It's simple -- if you're betting main stream events you have nothing to worry about, but if it's low limit exotics, especially with books having 'hard limits' on them you won't succeed because of the nature itself with these offerings.

What magnavox said. If what you've got a bead on is early rounds of tennis tournaments and three or four guys always make sharp plays on the same unknowns then this is unheard of and something is going on that has to be shut down.

If you're betting college basketball 1H totals, by contrast, it probably won't be a problem especially if you make it so your beard accounts have some variation in their play.

    magnavox,

sounds like you haven't got laid in a while my friend...might want to release a little babybatter before you come into the forum and start dissing me...I will be happy to have you put your money where your mouth is and try to out-handicap me...as I have stated before, I am a solid handicapper but have come to this forum to get more educated on the industry of sports gambling...I'm curious for you to point out at which times I've acted like a big shot?...really don't have much more to say as I don't want to stoop to your level, but just know when you get into your beat-up '93 Toyota Corolla tommorrow morning to go to work at 8 AM, I'll be sleeping in and watching the Akron game ...

Funny shit. Tell me, who did you invite to your basement for a quick and mandatory weekend ? Was it, by accident, this person

Just don't run around scared tomorrow if you find missing another $80 from one of your offshore accounts, lol.

BTW, how can you sleep and watch the game at the same time?

Wow. Way to man up, pags. We've gotta build a boxing ring in the basement of this forum somewhere.

Toe to toe handicapping contest sounds cool. I still wish raiders and brick could have worked something out. Maybe mag and pags will finish what raiders and brick started.

Pags ... I cant believe you of all posters doing a Raiders call out!! Ive never seen a hostile post from you ever.

Its a sign of the times when handicapping contests replace the old showdown at high noon but, that said, if its for small stakes it would be interesting.
