Default Mansion commision - I am confused???

I have previously asked them about how they compute their commision and the response I have received tells me that the comission is calulated ON THE TOP of the odds displayed on their exchange website. For example, I was told that if the odds displayed are +100 and I place a $100 on it, I will win $99 after commision but so far my experience with the calulation had been somewhat different.

For example, yesterday, I have placed a bet on Florida (-1.5) and the odds displayed were -118 and I have placed $3550. According to my calculations, my winnings before commision would be $3008.5 and it should be $2978.4 after the 1% commision. But contrary to those numbers my winnings were actually: $3024

What is going on? Why is there such discrepency in the calculations?

Mansion operates principally in British pounds and International style odds. If you use anything else both currency and odds are subject to conversions and rounding. That's where the discrepancies come from.

What I have found, like you apparently, is that the discrepancies are almost always in my favor. Nice. I don't usually find them to be quite as large as the example you described but nevertheless, nice.

I don't know if you're aware or not but the 1% deduction is not shown at the confirmation screen. You have to go into MY ACCOUNT after the fact to see it being deducted.

    Thanks Mudcat!

I see the deductions under 'My Account' that explains it. Thanks again for 'unconfusing' me.

    You're entirely welcome.

Welcome to the forum by the way. I got all carried away with your question and forgot to pass along a basic greeting.

    Glad to have you aboard.
