Default Matchbook needs to take "decided" games off live betting

Matchbook needs to yank games off of the board once they are decided. I am mainly referring to unders..other examples may be overtime games.

I notice a lot of them will stay on the board as the game is going.

A lot of clowns put in offers for these, it's basically fraud.

They hope some schmuck will take the bet.

    They need to fix this.

Why would they take anything off of the board that someone is willing to put money on?

If you win, you win. If you lose, you lose.

If they don't pay that is another matter.

I don't understand what your problem is?

It's the same as books keeping up future odds on teams that are eliminated. Buyer beware.

Like I said, if they don't pay there is a problem.

If they are willing to keep the odds up and pay then so be it.

my point is this -- betting is supposed to be a function of odds. if a match is decided one should not be able to play it. simple as that. that's not gambling. that's fraud.

Do you bet into bad lines?

If a "match" is decided and the odds are still up, then what are the odds, given that the book will pay?

it's never happened to me. i'd never bet a live game unless i was watching it on tv.

maybe i'm repeating myself, but a match shouldn't be allowed if the event has been decided. that's all. it's not fair and is a way for the scum bags to make money.

    homedog,
you either misunderstand what remmy is saying or what matchbook is all about.

you say, "if they pay". well, matchbook doesn't pay. the sucker who bets something with 0 probability pays for taking something that has already lost.

I agree with remmy. To keep odds up enticing someone to bet "under" when the the score has already gone "over" is wrong. I know, "let the buyer beware", but.......

If you bet a game that has been decided they will cancel the bet.

    From Matchbook's rules:

    • All open offers are automatically cancelled by Matchbook at the start of an event. Should a market remain open for trading past the start of the event due to an erroneously listed starting time, all trades made after the event's actual starting time will be voided.

    • Clients are reminded that starting times posted on the site are estimates, as provided to us through publicly available sources. Events often start several minutes later than the official time; and where possible (due to TV coverage, for example), we will attempt to keep markets open until the event's actual starting time.

    Sean;

Neither of those rules apply to live betting, or every market offered would be voided.

Sorry folks. You're right, Santo ... would have been nice if I had read the thread title a bit closer, eh?

    Carry on.
