Most of my family lives within a half hour ratius, so I do not have to travel far. What are you guys plans for the holiday weekend?

naw, we do a cuban christmas on christmas eve we go to my dads house, but the cool shit is that around 10am on the 24th we start roasting a hog. my dad digs a pit in the back yard and cooks the pig. while the pig is cooking we start playing dominoes drinking scotch and wine and smoke cigars and get plowed. By the time the pig is cooked which takes about 7 hours were feeling real good, then the real party begins we have wine, pork, rice black beans yuka which is really called casava and its a root vegetable. its a good time had by all .

one thing (out of many) that i appreciate more and more about this country (USA) i live in as i get older is it's cultural diversity. i used to take it for granted but i've seen a good amount of the world outside our borders and i realize that our diversity is one of our greatest assets and should be celebrated often.
