Default Pinnacle for U.S. residents: any way?

So suppose that after doing a fair amount of research (including here on SBR), a U.S. resident determined that it would be really nice to have an account at Pinnacle. Suppose that person were willing to go to some trouble and expense, but nothing sufficient to outweigh the economic advantages of working with Pinnacle.

Hypothetically speaking, of course -- would there be any reasonable way to go about doing this?

Buy an apartment outside the US, set up internet there, get a bank account there. (this would be cheaper if say you set it up at friends place)

From the US log into your outside the country apartment and then into pinnacle and bet.

There are several reasonable ways and, yes, Americans are playing at Pinnacle.

It's not just for Pinny, either, once you set up residency outside the US (either legitimately, or forged) you now have access to many other sportsbooks, poker rooms, and money processors.

once you set up residency outside the US (either legitimately, or forged)
If you go the forged route, though, don't expect Pinnacle to give you a wink-wink. You're going to have to have real documents that match up and getting paid will be a major hassle if you don't.

I'm not saying it can't be done, but it's not just a matter of getting a foreign bank account and using a friend's mailing address.

Exactly, and if it ever comes to light that you've provided false information, don't expect to have an easy time getting paid, and don't expect a lot of sympathy from anyone when you don't get paid.

I hope I didn't give the impression that I was recommending that route, as I certainly do not. I was just saying that it can be done, and that it is being done.

I'm curious if, down the road, we're going to see complaints from Americans who run up a big balance with non-US books and end up with confiscated funds.

yes, if you put money in with a forged id and proof of residency, then pinnacle can probably seize your money.

because the only reason that i can think of for anyone who really want to use pinnacle is they have no betting limit on most events. so if you want to go that route, i'd be afraid to go to sleep at night with shitload of money in curacao and the only way you can get it out is with your fake id and fake bank account. when you having problem tring to casj out 20k+, i don't think anyone on the sbr forum can help you to mediate that.

forget about pinnacle if you are a US citizen. just use matchbook, greek, wsex etc.

Or legally gain residency in a country that allows online gambling. Make a fun adventure out of it!

that is a lot of work just so you can gamble on pinnacle. pinnacle is nice but if you're trying to get residency at another country just for that reason, you seem pretty foolish

exactly. getting residency in most any country is quite difficult unless you are extremely wealthy.

i was planning on moving down here long before pinnacle left the US, and while it will be great to get my account back there -- it's going to take a while before I have the documents to make that happen.

While Pinnacle will verify all the documents and will do their best to catch anyone who tries this, if you are caught I can assure you your money will NOT be taken. If you are caught, your money will be returned to you. Pinnacle is not that kind of book.

if i ever become rich, i'll buy an island and declare it a country, and you all can get citizenship on my island. i'll put up couple of computer servers and a bank. but if the hurrican hits it, i guess all your money will be gone

if america is going to reisntiate draft, then that might be a good reason to become candians...or whatever country fancies you.

    Step one -
Go to Ontario or Costa Rica with your US passport and drivers license.

    Step two -
Get driver's license (Use whatever address you want). Both CR and Ontario will give you one.

    Step three -
Go to bank and open account

    Step four -
Wire or deposit money into account.

    Step five -
Set up virtual server or dial in to new country.

    Step six -
Wire money to Pinnacle from new bank (Send small amount)

    Step seven -
    Play a bit

    Step eight -
    Request wire withdrawal.

    Step nine -
    Give documentation

    Step ten -
If documentation and withdrawal go fine, a few days later reup with balance you want...

This is not rocket science and no, pinnacle will not steal your money.

this step seems a bit hard. you have to set up a mail service first and that is start up cost...i think to follow your steps, this will take at least 1-2 months min to set up. a lot of work, but seem doable

i don't know about costa rica. in canada you need a address to apply for driver's license. for those people who are actually in canadian, getting a canadian driver's license is a lot harder than getting a US driver's license. the failure rate for teanagers is way higher. your canadian address will be listen on the canadian driver's license. so what address are you going to tell them? phony address? then they'll mail your driver's license to a phony address and i don't know how you ever going to get it. without a mail service, i don't know how are you going to accomplish this

In the US they make and give you your drivers liscence right there in the DMV on the spot. No need for mail service. I assume Canada is the same?

the thing is that your proof of residency and your driver's license's address has to match.

In Ontario, you can get a drivers license with a US passport and they will hand it to you that day.

If you want an address, go to a strip club and tell a stripper you'll give her $100 if you can have mail go to her place....

My bigger question is is pinnacle asking for IDs? They've never asked me...

it really depends on how much have you withdraw from pinnacle. if you keep it small, i guess you're fine. best of luck at pinnacle.

obviously you've never tried to open a bank account in costa rica. it's not the US, you can't just walk into a bank and get an account.

right, also in canada, you have to make an appointment, otherwise they won't see you. just a minor detail, you can always call ahead.

I have not tried Costa Rica - I will only consider it if/when I feel neteller is safe again.... I may actually buy some property down there or in Panama as I think both are decent investments.. Anyways, I've been told for about $100 you can "rent" a spanish speaking local who will walk you through getting a license and bank account...

As for Canada, occasionally you need an appointment. Most banks will see you right away. If they are busy, they'll make you an appointment an hour or two later. I had to go drink a few beers once while I waited... It is not difficult.

Much more important to me than reestablishing with Pinnacle is reestablishing with Neteller or another similar processor coming along. Until that happens, risk outweighs reward in my opinion....

I hope Omega works out, but they need to change their fee structure to have a chance.
