Default SBR- What's up with BetMania slow pays

What's the story with BetMania? I'm reading that 4 players are being slow paid but it goes back some time. Who now owns BetMania, who left and do you know anything about the slow pays.

I have 2k left with Betmania, and will never go back once I play it back or collect. Over the past 8 months I have collected 6 grand-- at 1 grand a time and at enormous Western Union fees. Further, the collection times have consistently spread out, the last one taking over 2 Months. They suck! And back when SBR used to help gamblers, they went to bat for me concerning offsetting bets (I tried to middle games after the line changed). Betmania cancelled my winning sides wrongly and SBR called them on it. Sadly, Betmania still decided to screw me--but I appreciated SBR's valiant effort to correct it. Now SBR will do nothing for my complaint against Bookmaker (A+)--going on 5 days now. But I digress---Stay Away from Betmania.

BetMania basically said we can't be rated any lower so are not going to reconsider the decision and acknolwedged the point made.

The book was/is for sale and was being peddled pretty hard in the offseason with no takers. There is only a handful of employees left but we hear they are going to make a go at it again and are hiring. HedgeHog's experiences are indicative of the treatment everyone is getting. The have the ability to pay non-US players as per old terms but it doesn't make a difference to them.

HHog,
Regardless of if we have met your standards of speed of service and valor, I still intend to ask Bookmaker about this bonus but have not caught up with the best person to inquire with. Again, if you do not feel the offer was honored you can withdraw your funds.

Sure they can be downgraded lower. I say we test that theory if they don't pay the players they stiff Bill.

True, drop them to an F where they belong. Or keep them at a D until next football season, like the precedent SBR set with Cascade.

Isn't there a rating that says "Stay away from these lying scumbags?" or words to that effect?

Hopefully they either fade away or make a new commitment to players to go with the new advertising campaign. It would be great to be able to upgrade them after they revisit HedgeHog's dispute.

Re: BetMania slow paying 2 people?
I was given a link to this thread yesterday and have sat by waiting for some truth to come out besides Mike Mitchell’s post. I have seen my name throughout this thread with ‘call Jim’, ‘put pressure on Betmania’, etc. We do not have to put any pressure on BetMania or convince them to ‘do the right thing’, they have dug out of a hole they were in and are paying ALL players that we are aware of.

BetMania did go through a ‘transition period’ back March through May. They did have significant money problems early in the year, but have since gotten new, solid backing and have been paying players on a regular basis ever since June. In addition, BetMania encountered major problems moving money to the US that have since been rectified. The people that the Shrink says are no longer involved are indeed, no longer involved and BetMania is again on solid footing. When BetMania began to have problems with their backing, etc, Mike could have walked away, instead he worked hard over the summer to bring BetMania up to snuff and pay all outstanding debts

Here are some of the FACTS for this thread:
- 4 players have been referred to us by another site that did not have contact with BetMania
- We had no active complaints on BetMania in our database prior to receiving these
- All players have been waiting since early in 2007
- All players have inactive accounts
- All players are currently being paid
- We have been in contact with Betmania constantly since the moment we received the first player with a problem
- Mike did receive three emails from us
- Calls were made to BetMania
- The player who is owed 12K received a 3 dime check yesterday, as promised by BetMania and reported to the player by us
- We have confirmed that the player owed $4700 received a check for $2500 on Tuesday, as promised by BetMania
- I emailed the General when this thread was brought to our attention to let him know of our involvement

From what we can tell, BetMania is simply working through some dormant sharp players who have accepted agreements to get their money in the fashion they are being paid. BetMania is paying active players on a daily basis and we have no new complaints on this operation. The Shrink and TOW both posted that they trust this book. We do too, but for some of the posters here, this is not an out for you. Mike is running a recreational book only…fine for the $100-$500 player, but sharp action is simply something that he cannot afford to have playing with him.

What I find amazing is that this thread has ‘Hidden Agenda’ written all over it and all of you bite on it. The complaining posts did not come from ANY of the players who are waiting....the ‘tons of compaints’ simply do not exist

At OSGA, we no longer accept sportsbook advertising. Gone are the spinny banners, bonus posts and tracking links to sportsbooks. Obviously, BetMania is not paying us to say any of this……

We would appreciate any of the posters at this site becoming Members of OSGA. We offer a great value for the money and have our advocacy tool in full swing so that you can join our grassroots effort to make all forms of betting online legal.

Jim

Its great the book is on payment plans with the guys that won. When they get done paying everyone and squaring up with players they gave haircuts to when they were making up rules on the fly, we can take another look at them.

I cant help but wonder if its ethical to buy new and very expensive advertising when you got players on payment plans?

Obviously I have a vested interest, because it was my two $250 winners that were voided. I think the OSGA underestimated the length of time that Betmania had payout issues, because my last payment in August took over two months. I have no new withdrawal requests, so perhaps they are getting the payout issues finally corrected. I do know that they now offer U.S. people checks in addition to Western Union--which cuts the costs of getting your money in half. Certainly wouldn't raise their rating until you get more positive feedback.

Yes I was the one that got screwed. Nevertheless, I appreciate the effort made on my behalf then as much as the successful effort Dozer made recently for me with Bookmaker. You'll have to forgive my frustration in earlier posts as I also have money in Cascade which I'll never see. It's been a tough year for me with the Books, but I'm thankful to have an outlet like SBR to at least seek justice. Keep up the great work.
