    Default Bookmaker Bonus Screw

Bookmaker (A+), screwed me out a promised 25% free play sign-up bonus. Friday, I signed up over the phone with Gus and fully explained that my 2k deposit would be by transfer from 5dimes. He said fine -- just call him back when the deposit hit my account. To 5dimes credit, this happened in less than 1 hour .

So I call back Gus for the bonus and he says there is no bonus for book to book transfers, and that he called my home number and left several messages. I checked when I got home and he did call, but I was at work when I set up the account. I told him that Bookmaker should honor his promise, but he couldn't do anything for me. I then get transferred to his boss, Sabrina, and get the same denial . Next, I take my complaint to SBR, which has been very helpful in the past--but they strangely haven't answered any of my emails in the 3 days that have passed .

After reading your forum for over a year, I joined to let everyone know about Bookmaker's failed promise.

    Thanks for reading,

Since one of their reps promised it, you should get it.

But -- in dealing with books, any book, in discussing things like that, you should always record the call. Either tell them you are recording, or do it surreptiously. (Many states disallow that without notifying recorded perseon first, but I doubt an offshore book will make a criminal complaint against you!)

Or, don't call, instead do it by email, where you have a written record.

I have a bookmaker account and am OK with it (so far), but if you're unhappy just withdraw - do a book to book back to 5 dimes. Or, BM has free check withdrawals

Thanks, Kaps. I think Gus realized his mistake after he hung
up with me, and called the only phone number I gave him. I blame Bookmaker for not honoring his honest mistake.

another reason why they are rated A+

An A+ Book would have resolved this matter immediately. It costs Bookmaker nothing to accept a transfer from 5Dimes, so why not give me the same 25% bonus that other deposit methods earn. My other choice was to get a check from 5Dimes, cash it, and then ** the money to Bookmaker--who would have to pick up over $100 in charges. This costs time and money while a transfer is usually quick and free. I don't understand their thinking, and God I miss Neteller!

    HedgeHog,

I replied to your email you sent yesterday this AM. It said we would ask BM to honor the bonus or to refund your funds at their cost.

Have you asked for a refund?

Most of these guys that work at sportsbooks have no clue what is going on, throw them some Rum and they are happy, forget all the bouns crap because books alwys have a lopphole to get out of it or tell you to tread fine print after the fact.

if there is an agreement between two parties and a promise made, the seller has to provide the goods. if not, there is usually some satisfactory compensation to the buyer. i don't think just returning the funds for free is adequate

This was a personalized offer; the guy should get this bonus, NQA. I had a similar situation with 365 where they sent me a reload offer marked with an individual code, but apparently I was not supposed to get more bonus offers from them. I talked to them, clerk says no, but manager on duty quickly agreed with me.

It doesn't make up for the inconvenience to the player and still stands as a valid CS complaint but that is the industry standard for when a clerk makes a mistake. If you can't give the product oe services offered provide a full refund.

from what others say it doesn't look like an industry standard. it doesn't also look like a common sense standard in day to day dealings with buyers and sellers.

CRIS is not following them in most CS disputes. as you say it IS a valid complaint, but the facts are CRIS has a ton of them of similar fashion. posters report them for years. yet, they are still A+? i thought grades were not only for security of funds...

I've played with CRIS/Bookmaker for many years but Customer Service has hit rock bottom. I request pay outs weekly and each week they take longer and longer each time. The rule is you can only request a pay out every 7 days. Thats 7 days from the date they send it. My pay outs started being requested on Fridays but it took them until Monday to process which made it Monday on the 7 day roll requirement the next week it moved to Tuesday the next week to Thursday. So whats happening is that due to the new payout methods and laws your account keeps getting delayed more and more. I told them earlier in the year during baseball season that this would happen when Football started and was assured that by Football season they would have it all worked out. They dont have it worked out. What burns my ass up even more is you cant get through to a supervisor they aren't taking calls. Gee I wonder why. In the years past all you had to do was talk with a supervisor explain your situation rationaly and usualy problems could be worked out. Not now. One week I played in a poker tournament $5 entry fee. I lost the tournament no big deal right. Wrong. My withdrawal request (A hell of a lot more than $5) from the Sports Book was hung up 3 days while they waited on the Poker room to release my account for pay out (They had to audit my poker activity). Needless to say I had Poker blocked from my account after that. I dont know whats going on with Bookmaker but I sure miss the CRIS of old. Customer service used to be a AAA in my book with CRIS I cant say the same for Bookmaker. They have a limit on the amount of transactions ie... pay outs allowed per day and once its reached all pay outs get pushed to the next day or the next. The problem is that since Football started the pay out request have far exceded the amount of slots available and its only going to get worse.

NOT defending bookmaker but Ive been using CRIS/BOOKMAKER for a long time. They have been okay to me but this will definitely make me look around for a more sound book. Thanks for sharing that information.

Aggie, Aces and Magnavox are dead on right. Bill Dozer, you miss the point, sir. And where was SBR the past 3 days? My God, you do email tests on Sportsbooks and grade them accordingly. And if they don't resond in 24 hours, they get an F, so where should your grade fall.

Bill D, I'm looking for the same bonus everyone else gets; I don't want want a refund. I want the same bonus everyone else is promised, nothing more and certainly nothing less. Even if they transfer the money back to 5 Dimes, I've used up my free withdrawal for the month. Don't you get it, I'm screwed every which way.

This really surprised me. I have done business with
Cris for years and they have never given me a problem.
They gave me a sports pager and had to disable it
when they no longer accepted US. However, I called
Bookmaker their sister and they reconnected it in
a few days. They usually respond to me quickly and fairly.

I believe their rep made an error and I think they should
give the bonus. Maybe, if you allow them to see these
posts they might sing a different tune. They are usually
a fine book and listen to reason. That is what I would
    do.

When I was dealling with Cris I believe payout time was not a problem. I think they had a payout within a day or two via **.

I tend to find that in any dispute, it's never really a good idea to turn on the people trying to help you out. Especially when they're doing it for free.

Is Bill going to bat for you? I didn't read all these posts so I don't know. Does he know your story? I think he could help you on this.

Dear Tampax (or tacomax as the case may be),

Nobody is ripping your beloved SBR, in general they do a great job--and for free as you mentioned. I think the world of them, but they dropped the ball here: much like they did with Cascade. So kindly get your lips off their ass, you \*\*\*\*\*\*.

To Bill Dozer: I just checked my emails and I have received no response to my complaints as you claim . I have given my email address out several times, including when I signed up for this forum today. Also I really do appreciate the service SBR provides, and would still like your help, once you pry Tacomax and Bateman's lips off your privates.

To identify somebody as a homosexual is really strange.
Who the f\*\*k cares if he is a homoxesual or isn't??
It is totally useless info and only total aholes care

This has become visious. SBRs Bill John and the crew are very good at what they do. In this case its going to boil down to whether or not you can prove that a bonus was offered prior to the transfer. I never take bonus money because it always causes problems. There are two basic problems that players have with books and Bonus Money is the number one cause. The other is payout problems. By not taking bonus money I eliminate the major problem as far as payouts go there is no doubt in my mind that I will be paid by BM it just ticks me off how long it is taking and the lack of concern that the book has. Prior to the War ON Wagering I loved the NetTeller DC you just called Cris and went to the ATM sometimes within an hour but always on the same day. Now you have a 7 Day limit on payouts and they reserve the right to take up to another 7 days to get it to you. The problem is the 7 days starts on the day you get your funds not the day you request your funds. So if I request a payout on the 1st and receive it on the 4th I can not request again until the 11th and by their rules they can take up to the 18th to pay me. so in effect their is a 14 day window between payouts 9 to 10 days minimum and all this comes after I pay overnight fees which I'm sure you all know what they are. Some books are using other methods that are much faster. I spoke with 5Dimes and their payouts work the same way as Book Maker. It seems like all the good books are working the same way. I have found some B and C books that still have same day pay outs but the props aren't nearly as good. I guess I cant have my cake and eat it as well.

I apologize for my language last night. It's been a frustrating situation every which way. All I wanted to convey was that 3
days (make that 4) had passed without an email response from SBR. Apparently I did something unsacred, because 2 SBR cheerleaders were all over my post. However, my response was totally unprofessional. Im sorry.

Bill D: So where do we stand on Bookmaker? I have had no email response from you or anybody else from SBR. How hard is it to send a canned response saying that "we've received your complaint and are looking into the matter"?. You've posted that you read my email and responded. I swear to God, I've received nothing from you. And this is so atypical, because SBR came to my aid several times in the past. Also I have emailed assistance@sportsbookreview.com--and with no resonse in 8-10 attempts. What gives?
