I got it, filled it out, nothing really too terrible in it-strangest thing was asking for my phone number which the government has anyway-

I think this one is no big deal compared to the other things that are going on.

Pretty silly thing all around, in my opinion. Not to mention all of the $$$ being spent to promote the damn thing. This school district passed out tote bags and goodies to all of the kids as a way to entice their parents to fill the damn thing out. Plus, there is a strong push in this area to make sure and count as many Hispanics as possible. Can't recall who it was that said pretty much those very words (as if it was more important to count browns over blacks and whites). The hope here by some is that Texas is expected to get 3-4 extra seats in the US House with these new numbers. So there are already some local politicos drooling over how they're going to gerrymander the new district lines to make certain that at least one of the new seats goes to a predominantly Latino area.

Also, are you telling me we can't figure out how many people we have by looking at DMV, school, IRS and welfare records? Back when this country was founded a physical count was necessary. Now, given our technology, it's just a waste of money we don't have.

I think they would have to prove you received the form, as in sent registered mail, which it is not, same for jury duty....I never receive those notices.

It is cheaper to advertise heavily and get a few extra percentage points of participation than send out someone door to door that costs $15 per hour plus gas mileage.

Even the US government is worried you may be ghosting filling in numerous census forms so they have to make sure you are real.
